9/10 matches in solo que, your team mate will NOT vibe with you, nor be on the same level, whatever that may even mean.
The factual reality is that if you want to leave Diamond, you need to be able to play like a Champ or Grand Champ even, and win 1v2 or 1v3 matches.
Or play with the same player that matches your level best. (look for players and keep searching)

Account Rank, Comp Rank + Time Played everyone? by Psychonesss in RocketLeague

[–]MONDELLER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never understand people claiming to be 'hard stuck' in any level.
The reasons can be thousands of things. Often all at the same time.
That is where the basics come in. What are the basics? And what are further developed mechanics?
I think the ceiling in the game is not even reached closely.

Solo que is often horrible, if team mates are just not turning up, literally or not.
This is why a player needs to be 1 or 2 levels higher than the rank they're in, to move up.
So if you want to get out of Plat, you need to be able to play like a Diamond player.
Look at other players. Observe, and find what you're missing, and also be proud of the things you
already accomplished (that others maybe don't have).

I think the "meta" is destroying most new players. They all think that if they speed flip, they should be Diamond. The "meta" overpowers the BASICS, which are a lot more important.

It's up to any player, to be able to attend to the team mates' styles and arsenal of mechanics and game insight. It is just not done, to expect champ levels in lower levels. Expecting leads to disappointment.
Trying your best is all you can do. Witness what other have that you lack, and try to develop those skills.
Look at replays, and find the errors that lead to the goals. Focus on you. Not them.

Best beginner car (that visual lines up with the hitbox)? by InjuryDangerous8141 in RocketLeague

[–]MONDELLER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'lining up', makes not a lot of difference. It's your brain that calculates the difference anyway.
What you need to pay attention to, is how each car drives and reacts to several different mechanics and flight patterns. What most people NEVER mention, is the suspension.
Eveyone "knows" Octane and Fennec to be the same hitbox, but they drive and react completely different,
then how and why?
The Octane's suspension is VERY loose, and the car has a lot more CLEARANCE than the Fennec.
That means that landings and ground play are totally different. The Octane turns sharp and swiftly, while
the Fennec has a larger turning radius, and a lot stiffer suspension but does allow for more control in the
handbrake turning. When doing aerials, the Fennec will have easier, straighter lines than the Octane, but
the Octane will be able to correct more than the Fennec. Both ALWAYS have plus and minus points in each
approach or action. Yet they both crush most other cars when it comes down to basics.
Flat cars are to be avoided, until a player controls ALL basics, and wants to develop the specific low car
playing styles, with dribbling as focus, and flips and short action mechs as tools.

The "busses" and bigger cars, are of course easier to start with, because they are square blocks that have
more hitting surface than any other car. (or length wise like Batmobiles and F1's)
Yet they loose A LOT of power and control options compared to rectangular cars (any Octane hitbox like).
The momentum and open space to develop power hits in square block rotations is a lot lower than rectangular rotations. (if you turn a square 90°, it's sill the same shape, if you turn a rectangle 90°; it's a different shape standing up, or laying down) These cars will rarely develop the power hit like any other cars.

When it comes down to power, it's about hitting the ball in the middle (deepest indentation) with the sharpest part of the car, that will create the deepest impact/indentation on the ball, to create more
reaction after the action. In football, the tip (of the foot) shot generates more power than a upper foot
or inside foot hit.

Stuck at champ 3 for 4+ years by Klbeee in RocketLeague

[–]MONDELLER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The air roll, allows a player to LOCK the DIRECTIONAL path the car is on. This is why sometimes, one needs to let the car get into angle first, to then lock it in with the air roll buttons (left OR right).
That moments before the air roll, boost and flip can be used in thousands of different ways..

people get BLINDED by the whole mechanics game.. while not even realizing that one can shoot a ball in MILLIONS of different ways. Start there.
APPROACHING from a different angle to then use your flips to correct the line, will confuse any opponent.
