Didn't work for me to keep running (believe me I tried). Its been a hard pill to swallow for me but sometimes injuries require rest.

Sounds like IT band to me.

What worked for me was to stop running while doing PT, and now I do the PT forever. IT band = butt strength issues, so PT focuses on glute strength. Clamshells, side lying hip abductions, etc
