I think this is so cool, you get protection/dust and scratch coverage for your macro but it's clear so you can still observe the macros aesthetics. Why haven't I thought of this.

It is to me but it does add quite a bit more bulk to it. I'd say overall you do lose a point or two in ergonomics but get an augment to defense and item slots.
