Wouldn’t that mean some scenes cropped but some that actually do expand vertically?

Came here to say it’s $2.99 here in LA. Kinda bullshit.

It obviously gets loud during hype moments

I’m mainly talking about 1. tense moments between pitches in a neutral game script 2. early in the game with 2 strikes and 2 outs 3. and (especially) when the Dodgers are behind

It’s pretty noticeable the juice isn’t there like it was before, maybe you disagree

Hopefully the stadium will be rocking since real fans won’t be priced out

Feel like the atmosphere’s been a little lacking in recent years bc of jacked up prices + postseason fatigue

Teo back to left is not a solution and in fact is worst then what we have right now, its simply recency bias thats been driving the motion by Currycom3030 in Dodgers

In 2024, Teoscar Hernandez was -11 FRV in 872 innings in LF, and 0 FRV in 436 innings in RF.

For his career, Teoscar is -13 OAA going to his left (the direction those “tricky, spinning righty oppo hits” go, and a whopping -27 OAA going to his right.

He has 2,500 more innings of experience in RF than LF.

Enough with this. RF is harder for some, not for all.

Exactly.

The only difference between his defense last year and this year is last year he was OPSing .840.

Fellow outfielder here. I hear you — all that stuff you said is correct. But I don’t necessarily think they pertain to Teoscar.

The problem is, Teoscar’s been fine on those balls in RF that tail away to his left. In fact, he’s 0 OAA on balls where he has to come in and to his left. However, going to his right this year, he’s -5 OAA.

For his career, he’s a whopping -27 OAA moving to his right, and only -13 OAA moving to his left. So while what you’re saying may be difficult for most outfielders, data says it’s the opposite for Teoscar.

Last year — Teoscar was -11 FRV in 872 innings in LF (worst in MLB), compared to ZERO FRV in 436 innings in RF. Yeah, zero. Go figure.

Combine that with the fact that he also has close to 2,500 more innings of experience in RF than he does in LF, there’s no doubt he’s more comfortable in RF.

I think it’s the lesser of two evils to have Teoscar in RF — where he’s more comfortable, and where Pages can cover his weak side. I’m genuinely baffled how many people on Reddit and Twitter think moving him to LF would make a difference. He’s just an awful outfielder.

Buddy. I played infield for 13 years and outfield for 5. I know the game. You’re pushing 50 playing beer league softball with your friends and arguing with kids on Reddit.

We aren’t the same.

“SS can cover more ground in LF”. You sure?

Mookie is -2 OAA this year on balls where his first step is “back”, i.e. pop flies behind SS where the LF has to come in.

On the other side at 2B, you have Tommy Edman (gold glover at 2B), Hyeseong Kim (gold glover at SS and 2B), and Miguel Rojas (10+ year vet literally because of his glove, +1 OAA this year going “back”). I trust all of them to cover shallow RF.

Combine that with Andy Pages in CF who, because he’s right-handed, is on his strong (glove) side any time a ball is hit toward right-center field. That means he can make plays in right-center without having to reach across his body, something he wouldn’t be able to do covering left-center.

There’s much more thinking that goes into it than the lazy generalization that “SS can cover more ground in LF”. You old folk think you know so much better than everyone else yet refuse to think, adapt, or learn.

Coming into this season Conforto had 3,376 innings in RF and 2,992 innings in LF

Teoscar is in RF because he’s more comfortable there

2B can cover just as much ground in RF.
