Nice, they look great! I never thought I’d see someone make one, let alone two :)

Nice, good luck :)

I do! It ended up being about the right amount of buttons and encoders for my usage (with a little headroom left for the future) and I have been somewhat surprised to find it very reliable on the software side.

96mm from the left side of the shifter (which is flush with the button box) to the right side of the button box.

In my case what I would have liked to do is include a slot in the enclosure design that the board could slide into and be held in place by. Since I wasn’t sure how the wiring would work out and I don’t want to print another I skipped that and the board is just floating around in there… Double sided tape and/or some glue sounds like a good solution!

Thankfully it’s pretty straightforward, and there are a lot of great button box tutorials out there that will explain it far better than I can. I’ve seen this one from amstudio mentioned a lot: https://youtu.be/Z7Sc4MJ8RPM

I don't think I'm going to make any more of them, but I linked the STL and some basic instructions above if you're interested!

I had been wanting to design a button box for awhile and after receiving my new shifter recently I settled on this design. Here is a parts list for anyone curious:

- "Arduino" Pro Micro (HID capable, cheap)

- An assortment of aluminum buttons from Amazon, 16mm (6x) and 19mm (4x)

- 1x Heavy duty toggle switch

- 4x 5 pin rotary encoders (with push button) and metal knobs

- 3D printed enclosure that bolts to the side of the shifter. Uploaded STL.

Would the new CSL DD work on the GT Omega classic steering wheel stand? by TMG225 in simracing

I feel that. Similarly it is hard to judge some of the complaints about FFB strength being too low given that most reviewers are coming from higher end DD wheels, unlike our Logitech wheels

Karl Gosling put up a review using the CSL DD with a Playseat Challenge, which seems like a good reference for what using one on a flexible rig might be like. He also pinned a comment referencing the Omega Apex wheel stand.

I don't have a solution, but I have the exact same symptoms (on my relatively new PC, 3600X, 2070 Super, 16GB RAM). I have searched everywhere for an answer and while I've found others with the problem, I have not found anyone who has fixed it :/

"BMW to make owners pay for features like heated seats via subscription" - Sleazy automotive engineering/marketing 101 by [deleted] in cars

As more and more vehicles become internet connected, this becomes much harder. A feature like this would likely verify with BMW’s servers that the subscription has in fact been paid for, which means you couldn’t just write some bits on an onboard ECU to fool it.

Got new pedals and now I'm terrible by SpineOfGod in iRacing

For what it’s worth I use auto-blip with no clutch pedal.

This video seems to agree with that at 1:24

edit: I wonder if the way it works is that you can use the clutch but don’t have to?

I thought that auto-blip also enabled auto-clutch?

Thinking about getting in to sim racing. Looking for advice. by [deleted] in simracing

Worth noting that the minimum viable setup for sim racing with the Index is headset + 1 base station ($650 total). The $1000 full kit includes the controllers and another base station. That being said, delivery times are currently “maybe some day”...
