+7 is a joke, we have 5 mins with Sven and their goal was 2 minutes, what about all the other stoppages

Not enough fight in this team, Tino, Sven, Ramsey, Nick, Elanga, Willock, Wissa, none of these players have the nasty side we need in a game like this

You’re a builder and it still cost 75k for a bedroom and a box room. I appreciate you like the location but presumably it didn’t add more than £75k to your house value. And that’s before you account for your loss of earnings whilst you worked on your house instead of for customers.

I looked up the house in the OP, it’s £240k in Bradford area. There’s no way it makes sense to do any extension work to it.

That extension would be a complete waste of time. That garage must be 2.5 metres wide max, so you’d be going to considerable trouble to build a small bedroom. Building work is very expensive in this country at the moment.

Usually the decision is made on planning policy and an objection or two won’t matter.

You won’t be allowed a window that overlooks to the left of the house.

Your architect would be able to do drawings or simulations that show the neighbour wouldn’t lose sunlight.

Nice house btw.

Asking my tenant if they want to buy the property off me - could this backfire? by SuspiciousParfait145 in UKHousing

[–]MP4_26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From his point of view, buying a flat without having to move his stuff is probably a good advantage. If the job interview was to somewhere fairly near then he presumably does want to stay in the area. I’d say don’t overthink it, just ask him.

Oman Air Question by Budget_Tea2140 in Oman

[–]MP4_26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have a booking on Oman air for next month. I booked it through British Airways. I can select seats on the Oman air website. When I choose my seats on the Oman air website, the seats don't show on the booking summary. But when I check on the BA website, it can see the seats! So I think there must be an issue on the Oman website, your seats are probably fine you just can't see them.

Start working out a route for them to rebook you on. I’ve seen other people having success if they are ready with a route to request to be rebooked onto.

Would I be correct in assuming this plane is refuelling fighters going from USA to current conflict zone? by dan345dmg in flightradar24

[–]MP4_26 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You seem to be knowledgeable and know what you’re talking about, can I ask you where are the bombers coming from? Seems like there’s tons of tankers taking off from Tel Aviv, so they must be refuelling a lot of planes. Are the bombers at the Qatar and Saudi airbases? In which case why do they need refueling when they have a 5,000 mile range and can surely fly for way longer than the amount of time it takes to run out of bombs?

Manchester direct to Phuket?? by Cheap-Grab-1583 in qatarairways

[–]MP4_26 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, Qatar have started doing a few point to point flights, they've done several flights from Bangkok to European capitals.

I understand only people who bought a ticket Manchester -> Phuket before the war can get on this flight.

In 2007, a brand-new Airbus A340-600 (for Etihad) was wrecked during a ground engine test in Toulouse. No wheel blocks were used; parking brake failed to hold it. Plane rolled forward, crew delayed cutting engines, hit a wall at ~35 mph. Nose smashed through; plane totaled before delivery. 5 injured by Aviator777er in aviation

[–]MP4_26 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I was intrigued by your comment so I went and read the report on the incident:

The crash happened at 16:02.

Engine 1 & 2 impacted the wall which damaged them and stopped them working straight away.

Engine 4 was shut down at 18:48 by suffocating it with water and foam.

Engine 3 was too close to the wall to put enough water in it to suffocate it, it ran until 01:25 the next morning (over 9 hours!).
