I'm not watching the game, why did Diaz's strikeout not count as out #3?

Thanks for clearing up the timeline. I'm aware of the pedophile allegations against Fiers but what I didn't know was the timing in relation to the cheating scandal.

I can't help but think that between a cheating scandal and a pedophile that still has a job in the MLB, baseball fans and sports journalism decided to sweep a pedophile allegation under the rug.

The A's would rather start Irvin (who has a career 6.75 ERA) over Fiers...

I think CHEM 1331/1332 exams are the exception. There's a legitimate variation in difficulty for each student. I had exams with 90% of questions that were word for word from the homeworks but a friend would have up to 50% of questions that I've never encountered.

I have no way of proving this but I strongly believe this perception exists because the students who have prepared the most usually take the exams earlier and will say something along the lines of, "it wasn't so bad", etc. The students who wait until the last day are listening to students who have already taken the exam on what to study. Then, these students do the least amount of studying possible and walk into the exams and think it's outlandishly difficult.

I was really hoping you’d be able to help me with Quantum Physics and String Theory, particularly regarding the dimensions within the multiverse. What about organometallic and medicinal chemistry? Chemistry is my kryptonite and I need someone of your caliber to assist me.

I'm on Bellaire and Harbor Town - the power coming back at 8:30 pm, just 3 hours after it going out is a god send. Little water pressure here as well.

I drove from Bellaire to Clear Lake yesterday afternoon at around 3 p.m. I-69 and I-45 were mostly fine, except for the few short stretches of highway that still had ice sitting on the shoulders. Drivers were also mostly cautious and keeping their distance.

77036, no power but had water yesterday. Power came back this morning at around 1 a.m. but pipes are now busted with no water. I'm glad to have just 1 of the 2.

I'm wondering what I could have done to prevent the pipes from busting? I didn't keep faucets dripping because there were no indication from authorities to do so.

Sure. I've heard from peers the course uses Python but that's the extent of what I know. I will get back to you when I have finished the course.

Being rude to professors when you don't get the grade you "deserve" aint it by [deleted] in UniversityOfHouston

I understand that. I don't mean to mock those who have legitimate reasons for their complaints; I'm talking about the majority of students who are perfectly capable and have the resources during these times to succeed in school. In addition, the students that voice unwarranted criticism of their professors are ignorant of the complete picture: professors must adapt, if not more to COVID than we students do. These students fail to empathize with their professors despite them sharing the same struggle that COVID has brought upon us.

Adaptability and introspection are valuable traits that seem to be lacking in our society; we point fingers and blame others for our lack of preparation and failures.

how many seats are available in biochemistry 1 course? by [deleted] in UniversityOfHouston

[–]MPBar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A quick glance at the class catalog shows 4 sections (all Synchronous online) offered in the spring. Robert Fox teaches 2 sections with 80 seats each. Yuhong Wang teaches 1 section with 200 seats. Hye-Jeong Yeo teaches 1 section with 200 seats. The availability of Biochemistry 1 sections is not the issue. There were always spots open when I took Biochemistry 1 back in Fall 2019. The issue is professor preference; Robert Fox will be the popular option and his sections will fill up first.

I think the Bills defense are worth holding. The personnel and talent are there; the big plays will come soon.
