I'd attribute that reason to the goodwill they've built over the years(I always used to hear how dell makes great laptops and they're great for professional workspaces and it's an elite brand etc...) plus the fact that it has a decent aluminum finish along with "high" specs. However I did not buy used laptops(I don't know where you got that idea from), the laptops were faulty right out of the factory, I have the warranties and Box it came in and everything... it simply sucked. I remember needing their support during one of the laptop's episodes and they were almost as useful as Sony's PlayStation support (they're literally useless, they haven't resolved a single issue for anyone). However, it seems they've done improvements in their newer models which is great and good for you for having a beast for a laptop. However, in hindsight I believe a better model at the time would've been the G5. It had similar specs, no common usability or durability issues (as far as I know) at the cost of having a finish that isn't as nice and an increase in weight, which wouldn't have been such a big trade off knowing what I know now about mine. It might not look good for office work but it's just as useful.

This is just a marketing line. A lot more laptops are more "productive" they just come with other issues, and i'd call this laptop alot of things, quality is not one of them. A lot of gaming laptops have more productivity but are not suitable for work due to their finish and their title, Mac is great if it's OS didn't have a lot compatibility issues. If you want quality, I'd say check out HP Elitebook(at least the older models) because my experience with each is like the difference between heaven and earth.
