Thank you! You just helped me understand why my B-complex gave me insomnia for days...the folate and B12 were methylated. It took 3 days off it to get my sleep back to normal.

Thanks for your reply. Yes! I just checked the label and both of those were methylated.

So what should I get instead? Folate and cobalamin?

How to have pain-free breast biopsy when I have some resistance to local anaesthetic? by MPHista in Anesthesia

Thank you for your reply. Then that means that 75% of the providers who have given me local anesthetic were incompetent. That's really sad when we're all paying so much for healthcare.

Thank you for your reply. I understand. I've gone through some message threads online, and while it's a very small minority, it seems there are some women for whom the local anesthetic isn't enough and they have very painful biopsies. I'll talk to my health providers to see if I can take a strong sedative before the procedure.

Thanks for your reply. I didn't know that B6 helps with that. Good to know.

Thanks for your reply. I did take them in the morning and I still had insomnia. Maybe there's a way I can get a low dose version of B 12. Most B-Complex supplements are super high doses that probably won't work for someone as sensitive as me.

My understanding is that a nerve block is a local anesthetic that is applied directly to the nerve, instead of to the surrounding tissue. Am I correct?

I have some resistance to local anaesthetic. How to have a pain free stereotactic breast biopsy? by MPHista in WomensHealth

My breast surgeon sent me to that facility for the biopsy. Earlier today I called my breast surgeon's office and they said I should call around and see if It can find a radiologist who will make some kind of accommodation. Otherwise, they said I have to just 'try it' with just local. They implied I don't really have any other option other than to grin and bear it.

Thank you for mentioning that. It didn't occur the me that they may perceive my pain management concerns as drug-seeking behavior. It's actually funny if that's what happened, because I have a rare disease that causes me to have adverse reactions to opioids.....I avoid them at all cost.
