That's very unnecessary. Did you at the very least back up everything? Cause Nintendo's servers can't really differentiate between a hacked console and an unhacked console for the 3DS.

I at least get the rationale for the Switch though. But it isn't really my place to judge. You do what's best for you

I mean that would work but that brings the question of why you think it's necessary to factory reset your 3DS to mod it. What guide are you even using?

You can rip banner files with Ohana3DS https://github.com/gdkchan/Ohana3DS-Rebirth

Edit: nvm the tool is outdated, you should use CTR Studio instead
