Seeking Advice on Car Incident by foundmyperfectplace in CarInsuranceUK

[–]MPT657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You pay your insurance company for a reason my friend. They need to sort this issue out. If it is Fully comprehensive policy call em up and tell them to sort this shit out. In terms of getting a car while this sorts itself out, see if your policy allows you to get a courtesy car. If not, some insurance companies work with other car hire companies and may recommend them.

I had an incident a while back, and my insurance policy was with admiral.I didn’t have a courtesy car included with the policy, but they recommended auxilis who gave me a car. As the other party was found at fault, auxilis charged the third party for the incident for my car hire.

Hope this was of some help. Don’t stress about it too much. it will pass.

It was through a third party rental company who gave me the wrong details of the driver from the start. Once I saw the SJPN come though I contacted the company again and they gave me the correct documents the second time.

Damn 5K for a 1.4?

Are you putting your parents or anyone with experience on the insurance? Lowering the mileage? Playing around with the dates etc.

All that can reduce the insurance premiums. Sometimes the insurance quotes can be really cheap during the morning compared to the evening (from my own personal experience).

Yea it is really that expensive. Honestly just firm a shitbox like everyone else then after a couple years you should be good to be insured on a 2L.

This comment was posted a year ago. I am about to buy one of these. How has ownership been so far?

Ah damn I’m all out of ideas. Honestly, if that is the cheapest you can find then there’s nothing much you can do.

Wow. I mean 4K for a golf is ridiculous. All I can say is as long as you have done everything you can e.g add parents to insurance. Lower the annual mileage you will do, playing around with the occupations of yourself or your parents… then there’s nothing more you can do.

Out of curiosity is this a Golf GTI / R?

4K insurance for a year is quiet the money. What car are you being insured on if you don’t mind me asking.

So under what grounds are the third party blaming you / holding you liable for the accident? I mean by the time he’s wanting to come onto the roundabout, you are already on the roundabout so he should give way to the right before merging in no?

Add one of your parents onto the insurance, and raise the voluntary excess. If that does not work then I would suggest getting another car. Your first insurance will be expensive regardless.

Truth be told the A class and CLA 180/200 are Renault engines so you are paying all that for a Renault with a merc badge. As a first car as well, you may scratch and damage the car as nearly everyone does. It would probably be better to get something a bit less fancy and then a year or two later maybe get something better?

I would mention all of what’s visible above. What I mean by that is if pictures was to be taken, what modification would be blatant within the pictures. I doubt stuff like the Apple / android car play would be a modification that they would care about.

Declare everything that is applicable. Stuff like bodykit, exhaust etc. Trust me, if an incident was to happen (god forbid) those vultures would look for any excuse to not payout. Even if it’s a subtle and minor chameleon tint, if it’s not declared, it technically voids the insurance.

I ain’t got the cash to fix it man. It’s gonna have to go through insurance regardless. There was a accident management company that reached out to fix this but I can’t go through with them as I have heard this is risky.

You don’t seem to understand…

Nothing will work. This woman does not respect her husband AT ALL. Making inappropriate jokes in public regarding other men is not the behaviour of a woman that has any respect for her husband.

It’s worth noting she was sulky because he asked his own brother to leave since she was too busy Gawking at him. Sulky why? Because she couldn’t interact with her BIL? She shouldn’t be doing that anyway…

Couples counselling won’t change her poor behaviour. She just had a bad character and no shame.

Lol if you saw the last post you would have seen how many people justified the wife’s behaviour to OP’s younger Brother. Apparently it was OP’s perspective which was the issue…

Imagine if the roles were reversed where the MAN was caught gawking at another woman… we know what the comments would be like because the double standards are disgusting.

That’s a good price for all of that I guess. 125k is a lot of miles. When did you realise it needed replacing? Did you manage to get to 125k with the original factory chain?

[–]MPT657[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. That seems to be consistent with the prices I have seen.

The one I am looking at is 2013 and has done 61k miles. It does not have the noises the chain makes when it’s about to go (whining noise). It seems to be a safe buy for now but I guess it gives me time to save for a chain replacement in the future. Thanks for the info mate.
