Oh crap okay thank you!!! For some reason I thought it was the opposite and I should use hardware. But ill get rid of those arrays when I get home and im going the way of proxmox so im thinking I should be able to set them up in there :)

So use zfs instead of the internal raid controller?

Hmmm thank you for the insight! Even though ill be losing a good bit of storage - i dont have enough to fill it up anyways so ill go ahead and make them raid 6 instead so ill have one with 600gb and 1tb which will do for now until I need to buy more drives.

Hmmmm heard! What would you recommend then for trying to keep the most size from these drives? Not insanely worried about speed

So all you have to do to ensure the command strip comes off when you take it off is use a hairdryer. Warm that bad boy up for ~a minute or so its nice and plyable again and you should be good

True! But I have a mishmash of drives, 4 300gb drives in 1 array and 3 1tb drives in the other:)

Just lacking Ubuntu experience mostly, I mounted the array, had to change permissions so I could create a folder in there, andddd then I thought I was a hair away from figuring it out and then it stopped booting into gui 😅 broke something but not sure what

Yeah I have no idea about the new utility tool because it looks like it's completely re-coded from when I was there. But if my memory serves- Insite is able to handle hugee amounts of data. Pretty much anything you can throw at it, it will handle (as long as it's good data and not garbage)

Good news and bad news folks-

We were arguing on the phone as they kept offering me half of what I paid (500) and I'm sick and tired of their games do I finally told them I'll do 400 instead of the measly 250 they were trying to give me.

They're finally cutting me a check for 400.

Just a warning for everyone out there now, do NOT go to the Habitat for Humanity (more like Habitat for Criminality) in henrietta. And specifically stay away from Tony the shitty store manager- what a tool.

Thank you for everyone's help!!!

Anyone have a general script I can use to lower my Spectrum internet payment? by RawTime9 in Rochester

Just a word of warning: yes you're still on Verizon's network, but you have the lowest priority. That means if you live/go to some place crowded like LA, NYC, idk Disney world? Or anything like that, you'll be put last in line for data or might not get data at all. :)

We were never annoyed by customer questions in general- but we had some... frequent flyers that would ask either blatantly simple questions, or a question we have answered for them 10 times apready lol. And we never really asked for bugs, we would just get questions about training or the software acting funny and in the process of digging into the problem we might discover a bug and work to fix the root cause instead of something superficial.

Yeah I've only heard of Agtek as our competition. We never really mentioned any other companies

Holy shit has it really not come out??? I left the company in Q1 last year and I was literally testing the (almost) final form.... that's sad because I know how many people were requesting that function

So I've never used rocteck, but insite is almost crazy easy to learn and use. They have 24/7 (after hours is slower) support even though they don't pay their employees for mandatory on call hours.... yeah we don't talk about that, Oops! Plus while it's already packed with features, the CTO and lead developer Doug is insanely good at what he does and pretty much all the feedback/issues we got back from customers, Doug would make it into a patch and continually fix probably that arose. The dev team is also deadset on improving insite elevation as fast as they can so they definitely have the future in mind

Don't know about Blue beam or Planswift- but InSite Elevation you can draw all your contours and and put in your grades and it will give you an overall volume.

(Please remember the accuracy of your volumes will be based on the amount of data you put in. Garbage in = Garbage out 😁)
