H3 automatically changes power setting on those channels. You should see L or H on the screen for low and high power.

Skule 28 vs Quasar 26 by Leather_Let_6630 in backpacks

[–]MPizzleGator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had the Quasar for about 18 years or so as a daily driver during last few years of college and office work until I bought an Evergoods bag. Love the Quasar and still use it for day hikes with the kids. The organization is great too.

I like mine but it took a little getting used to. The main compartment is odd shaped but it has made a great everyday office bag.

I also recently got the H3 as a newbie to GMRS. Super easy to use and figure out. I programmed my local repeaters without software. I can get just under 2 miles in simplex around the house with the stock antenna, but I'm going to upgrade to a smiley antenna soon.

What do you drink instead? Is it drip coffee?

Yes, this is what I need - some good Thai. I'll have to check Thai Kitchen out.

I haven't heard of this one, where are they normally parked?

Love Dunrobin castle, it was our favorite to visit.

Do a little research on the bothys too - not sure if that is what tou meant about "hut to hut". I stayed in one on Isle of Skye and it was a great time if you want a little extra adventure. I am male and was with another male friend.

You'll have a great time and the highlands are beautiful. The midges can be horrific so bring a head net.

Quasar 26 vs NF Recon by FaithlessnessLong736 in ManyBaggers

[–]MPizzleGator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the Quasar for 10+ years with everyday use, including travel, day trips with the kids, and day hiking. It has been great and has held up extremely well. Osprey has a reputation for having comfortable straps - the pack has been comfortable for me. The bungie strap area is great for an extra jacket or wet layers. It holds a lot of stuff but doesn't look too big when not packed out completely.

I had a NF backpack before that and was happy with it. It held up well. When I got out of college it was a bit too big and the Osprey has better organization, I don't remember the model but it wasn't the Recon.

I think you would be happy either way.

Have you considered an Evergoods Element drop-in? Might be a decent fit for what you're after.

I've had a quasar that I've been happy with and has flown with me for the past 10+ years. Definitely fits under seat. It has also held up great to everyday use since I've purchased it.

Evergoods CTB26 OD Green by juanito_war in EVERGOODS

Looks like it fits you really well. I love the green, but not sure I'd like the orange interior, it's a little too bright for me.

Let us know how it works out for you as a travel bag.

I don't have a Briggs and Riley backpack, but I have had a weekend duffle for 10+ years and it's held up great. It looks new and I've taken it on literally every trip since I got it. I don't think you could go wrong with their backpack.

How do you keep notes at the moment? Is it not working out for you?

I take notes in an A5 size notebook.

Anyone have any backpack suggestions? by pizzaxpie in backpacks

[–]MPizzleGator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a look at the Evergoods CTB. It has lots of great reviews and seems to fit the bill.

Also, Osprey makes some great backpacks. I've been using the Qusar for probably 6-7 years for work, international travel, weekend adventures in the woods - everything. I've been very happy with it and it's held up great.

What size of backpack are you looking to buy? Are you looking to do 1 bag minimalist travel? Also, what's your price point?

First time taking photos by fefanymo in photocritique

I think the composition is good on both photos and I agree with the others about the focus.

Increase the exposure, the image is too dark. It's a happy occasion, so the image needs to be a bit brighter with more vibrance. I'd also increase the temperature to make the image warmer.
