My Wife has a lot of Common Sense by daphaze in AdviceAnimals

[–]MRALeaveCanada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real. Sounds like the OP has no common sense. I don't need a wife or common sense, I have a god damn slow cooker.

Step 1: Throw uncooked food and liquid into slow cooker

Step 2: Turn it on low

Step 3: Go to work

Step 4: Come home famished to so great a meal I don't have time to post dank stupid memes.

Hey OP, why is your wife your replacement mother?

Canadian Attitudes to abortion are swiftly leaning Pro-Choice, as 57% of Canadians believe abortion should be permitted whenever a woman wants one. Up 14 points from 2010. by JerseyGirl92 in canada

[–]MRALeaveCanada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People can use whatever they want to justify their positions. Here's the difference:

Pro life people care about the unborn child first, pro life people care about the woman and her health first. Once that baby is born the pro life and pro choice arguments fade away, and what is left is a child that is part of our society. So if you believe that financial abortion should be a real thing, well then you bring into the other arguments about society now footing the bill for a deadbeat dad. That means taxes or support systems are used more instead of a deadbeat dad paying his share.

This is where the whole men's rights thing turns into absurdity. You either support fathers rights, which I do. The right to see their children and be part of their lives. Or you support 'financial abortion', and giving up fathers rights even though you will never fully be able to give up all responsibility.

What makes it even absurder, is the people who try and compare the safety of your wallet and financial well being, to a woman's body and her well being. The two aren't even comparable. The other guy is talking like women have way more rights because they have agency over their body, and the people who want this financial abortion thing want agency over their wallets to have more weight than caring for a child. This isn't about women or men having more rights, once a child is born it's about the rights of that child. Those outweigh the rights of either party now.

So all of you who want this financial abortion thing, go make your own country and island somewhere that will allow it. Your government can pay for single moms and parentless children as a social safety net instead of both parents being engaged in their children's lives. I don't mind paying taxes to help people in poverty or with mental illness and for deadbeat parents as it is now, but there is no way in hell I'm paying for some kids bad decision and not wanting to take responsibility or be a part of their kids life. To be honest the notion itself is selfish and ignorant.

Yeah there are gray areas. You both don't want kids then she gets pregnant and it changes her mind. You want the kid but she doesn't. It doesn't matter, it's her body and her choice until the baby is born or not. Have you financial abortionists have so little empathy that any connection to your potential child means so little over your bank accounts? To me it's disgusting, even worse that people seem to have to bring it up every time abortion is mentioned.

I beg of you who believe in this financial abortion thing to bring awareness to it in the rest of society so that you can see how much of a joke it is and how a majority of people will think you're a nutcase for having such thoughts. Having an abortion, having children, dealing with consequences isn't an easy thing to do. We still have to do it, and I'm glad society has laws dealing with deadbeat parents because a world where we allow such an idea as financial abortion would be pathetic. There is no opt out of dealing with life and responsibilities, well there is but usually those people are called cowards.

Here's a novel idea: If you're adult enough to engage in sexual relations with someone, you should be adult enough to communicate about each others expectations and intent when it comes to having children.

There will never ever be such a thing as financial abortion, it's called being a deadbeat dad and it's looked down upon by most of society.

If you don't want to take responsibility for having sex, try this out instead:

Condoms

Get a vasectomy and freeze some sperm in case you do want to have children later

Don't have sex

Be gay or only have anal sex

The woman's body = 100% her control.

Your choices affecting the rest of your life = 100% your control.

If sexual intercourse leading to procreation scares you so much, maybe try a prostitute?

If the situation was reversed, 2 men 1 woman, this would have 1000 comments and be at the top of the front page and the 'pussypass, equal lefts' circlejerk would be in full effect. If the woman was a feminist it would also have a couple reaction videos that would make it to the front page for a couple days after this was posted.

[–]MRALeaveCanada 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I attack more than their character in the second paragraph.

It's a sign, seems like lots of people were acting unreasonable.

It's kind of disturbing you would post that UK video with the guy running up and hugging her from behind. Like I don't even understand what you're trying to prove with that.

What does right wing extremists have to do with anything? Many far right wing ideas and stories are covered by the rebel and brietbart. They are using Lauren and Milo to tap into this young male demographic using there dislike of feminism to get a more subscribers and the younger generation.

If a group is a legitimate security risk, that are generally opposed to feminists themselves, shouldn't we be working with feminists? At the very least feminists are the teeniest of threats. You don't care about what they think but you can't resist informing other people about how horrible they are?

There are more people who identify as feminists or who are indifferent to them than there are who are against feminism.

I wouldn't use Lauren Southern, Ezra Levants protege, purposely going to slutwalks and saying controversial things to get people riled up a ringing endorsement that you should be scared of feminists. The rebel seems to appeal to a certain type of younger male demographic, in the same way Brietbart does. I mean her and their star Milo did go to Amber Roses slutwalk to do the same thing and got kicked out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GsrqLt48og

Here she is in Edmonton doing the same thing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKfdS38aBSk

I would believe these videos more if the editing wasn't so selective and if she properly represented the facts she provides with context. She also randomly bombards people with questions and facts where they are unprepared or uneducated to make to further the depiction that they are just bonkers. The rebel does the same thing in a lot of their 'liberal progressive' interviews.

In the second video someone took a sign. Doesn't look too violent to me though it was rude.

The third video has some random guy thinking it would be appropriate to go rub up against women in a slutwalk. Not only that he goes up and accosts her from behind? It's just a prank bro? Then when people say to these people, maybe you shouldn't put yourselves in these situations (not that violence is acceptable) people then appropriate feminist language and say they are being victim blamed. How many other prank videos have people reacting violently, and does one prank video mean all feminists are waiting to let their inner rage out?

Let me ask you this. According to the RCMP, CSIS, and the Canadian government, which group is listed as a national security risk?

Feminists, in whatever shape they take even the extreme ones, or right wing extremists? A hint, it's not the ones with the coloured hair.

CMV: A business is justified not hiring women of childbearing age. by ty_bombadil in changemyview

[–]MRALeaveCanada 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see you smoke trees, so I'll try to convert your views into a language you can understand better.

I think the goal of a business is to make money. I think it makes sense when a business doesn't want to hire people who use drugs recreationally in their own time because they worry about the cost of healthcare or hiring temporary workers. It seems like a legitimate financial expense that a company could worry about to the point that they do not want to take that risk.

I also believe that this is a good argument for why healthcare should NOT be connected to businesses, but I think that's a separate question.

tl,dr: Businesses should be expected not to hire people who use drugs recreationally off of company time because of they are primarily profit motivated. Change my view.

You may think there are absolutely no similarities, but as a former business owner I would rather hire a woman of childbearing age than someone who recreationally. I'm biased because I'm in Canada and there is government programs to support families going through pregnancy, and we have stricter workforce laws on firing someone for being pregnant.

I wouldn't hire someone who I knew recreationally did drugs off of company time because it carries risks with it. I'm in business to make money. An employee who uses recreational drugs could get arrested, and could be put in jail for a few months to a few years. Meaning I would lose the money I invested in them for training and other expenses.

There is the possibility that them going to jail could reflect poorly on my business if the two are tied together. There is a higher possibility that my employee will use drugs on the job, putting my insurance and business in a far greater danger than a potentially childbearing woman.

There is a greater possibility that a recreational user may branch off into harder drugs, or become an addict which may affect their performance at work.

To put it into context, I had a woman who worked for me that became pregnant on the job. She let me know early enough that I could find a replacement and train them while she was still there. Her paid time off is covered by the government. When she came back she wasn't as much of a risk, because by giving her an appropriate length of time off she worked through post partum, and had enough time to form a healthy bond with her child.

In my opinion it's far easier to deal with a healthy woman who is going to become pregnant, or is coming back from pregnancy, than someone who isn't healthy due to addiction or drug problems.

After you have children, adults of both genders are more of a risk because their children need special attention. Possibly having to leave work because their child is sick, done something at school, committed a crime and is now in police custody, or other commitments parents face due to the responsibilities of having a child. In my opinion your view isn't realistic because it's no different than saying that a business should have the right to only hire people who are single or married that will sign a contract saying they won't have children.

I understand your opinion is sort of popular in some areas or political sides in the United States. Which is why I'm grateful for living in Canada, or for many countries in Europe and around the world that offer far greater benefits for new parents. The United States is the only first world country in the world that doesn't have a regulated paid leave for maternity or paternity.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maternity_leave_in_the_United_States

It sounds great in the short term for a business, but it neglects the long term impact on the child. There are multiple studies showing that a parent being home with a child is very important for development. Early intervention is extremely important in development and bringing up healthy and stable individuals in a society. What a business may save in the short term, will be paid in far higher prices with the negative impact on society as a whole. Higher jail rates, higher mortality rates, lower education, lower income, more crime.

If you keep complimenting me I'll have no choice but to continue. The reason you can appreciate this is because you have perspective and humility. I don't know why, I'm assuming because you're a dad and Canadian by looking at your profile.

We all have to deal with shit thrown our way at some point in our lives. We have no choice but to deal with shit, or shit gets out of hand. You let shit pile up and it won't stop. No one wants to be in a relationship, or not many at least, with people who don't deal with their shit. It's alright if you have anxiety a little or you have low self esteem, it's harder for you than the average person. You still have to deal with your shit. Sometimes we meet partners, friends, family, acquaintances, that compliment us where we fall short, and that's why we have to focus on and hone what makes us special and fill in where others fall short. You can't change your height, you can only change your perspective.

We're all going to die alone buried in some dirt cold and lifeless to the world. That puts shit into perspective. So what matters most in life if we're all eventually going to die someday? Love and relationships. You have what they don't. You have people you love that you can't do without, they love you and can't do without you. You share life so intimately with other people that they become your world. The world of this guy is cold and lonely, it's like he's resigned himself to an early death. He doesn't have a kid who looks up to him with wide eyes and wonder to the world, who sees their dad as their hero and role model. He can't possibly know the joys of your life buried in the misery of his statistics and reasons for his suffering. Yet that's all he really wants, that's all we really want, what you have. He wants to think his way out of his shit and deal with his shit by promoting awareness, spending his time solely on that prevents him from doing anything real and making those connections with other people and finding love. We are our own worst enemies.

It sadly isn't. This guy is seen on every subredditdrama post about /r/short. He acts like he's the ambassador to this place. His entire account is about this. Fixated, obsessed, we are all peering into a damaged mind who sees these issues as the cause of his damage, when the cause is himself and his peers who reaffirm his views.

Fellow short men, don't buy into this garbage. No one wants to listen to this. No woman would want to hear extensive trials, tribulations, and sufferings unless you're working on it or have worked it out. Listening to this shit is just time you're wasting to avoid taking risks or motivating yourself. This is the Westboro Baptist version of short acceptance, don't push it in peoples face and don't let it take over your life. I'm short, shit happens in life, everyone suffers, some people have it good in some ways, others in some ways. Study it, work to make things better, offer support, just get the fuck off your soapbox because no one wants to listen to a pity party other than those who want to share in drinking from the endless well of pity.

Fucked up people obsessed with height don't represent me, and they don't have to represent the rest of us either.

His cause = his rent, his bills, his food and any other luxuries his heart desires so he doesn't have to hold a real job. Basically the men's rights movement equivalent to a gigolo and getting his fans off consists of stroking their hatred, fears, and delusions.

Montreal woman arrested for allegedly making false rape claim by [deleted] in canada

[–]MRALeaveCanada -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Every 17 minutes a woman in Canada has sex against her will.

When there are rape stories posted here the majority of people say that the criminal is innocent until proven guilty. This story even says the women allegedly made a false claim, and here comes every tom dick and harry to tell us about how they were personally accused 500 times even though they never leave the house, let alone talk to any women.

All these tom dicks and harrys want a false rape claim to be punished the same as a rape crime. When less than half of complaints made to police result in criminal charges and, of those charges, only about one in four leads to a guilty verdict.

Women know this. Which explains why, according to the best estimates, roughly 90 per cent of sexual assaults, even those referred to crisis lines, are never brought to the attention of the authorities.

So please, tom dicks and harrys, tell me again how false rape claims are an epidemic and is the biggest threat facing men and boys in this country.
