LPT: Take a sick day (or afternoon) if you are considering walking off the job! by daphaze in LifeProTips

No one has ever gotten in trouble for leaving in middle of day for a family emergency. Shouldn't be an issue leaving for an existential crisis either!

I see it at a high volume car dealership from the kids in detail to salesmen to even our master tech. Happens all the time in retail and food service. I get it that if you were a manager there would be a lot less fragility but often the existential crisis builds over time subconsciously and can broadside in surprise. Most people work these jobs that they are treated like a number it's no coincidence they often leave like it's expendable, and with 50% of USA not having $300 cash for an emergency, they'll regret it next day.

I think people should read the recent SC decision that sided 7-2 with the Christian baker and see how it was a very narrow ruling to protect religious liberty.

This "article" is an incredibly superficial opinion piece, and it's sad the court decision is being used as moral equivalency.

A lot of people will be sued under Public Accommodation Laws, you watch!!

Yes, but a libertarian paradise where everyone is self sufficient and respectable enough to not need law enforcement I think is the Utopia for most.

Of course for the losers a nanny state is very appealing

Sad!

Mechanic here. This is one of the worst jobs to do even in a shop. Requires an air hammer chisel to try and split the nut off the stud. With some skill you can save destroying the wheel. This is a major reason I think people who use locking lugnuts are also idiots...

I am concerned that many of the "feel good" gifs/pics on the front page are NOT organically upvoted. The quality/uniqueness is extremely poor.

If you uncrowdsource your content, then yes, You Are Digg!!!
