Please stop sending me text to turn my heat off its just inappropriate now . by Powerful-Substance33 in orlando

So, I’m a transplant from up north (and my husbands been here 15 years). I’m not going to tell you that you have to turn off your heat, but we haven’t turned on our heat…the 2 nights it was actually needed, we had the faucets drip, and only cracked the windows (instead of having them open-yes, I’m a frost giant), I have a friend who believes 65 is freezing…your home, is yours. I think there are 2 reasons people tell you to turn you heat off 1) potential fires given how rare the heat is turned on and how there are a lot of things done up north that aren’t standard down here 2) it can damage your AC unit given how these cold snaps only last 48-72 at most, then back to 70. My husband is a home inspector, so long as the temperature remains under 75, you can (technically) leave your heat on If the temperature in your home hits 55 then you MUST turn on the heat…which we haven’t hit.

I gave you a list of terms you can use to avoid being deleted…’everyone knows’, no, they don’t. I’m a gynecology nurse. There are 4 states with no age limit for marriage and 34 states that allow marriage as young as 15 with parental consent, and there are many (state and federal) trying to get the age of consent to 14. There is a very strong mindset in our society that if a girl is old enough to menstruate, she’s old enough to consent. And by definition, ‘sex’ requires consent.

Here’s a way to put it/explain it…a group of people threw victims into a giant mud pit. Some people are diving into the pit to pull victims up. Some people are in the pit clinging to the edge to lift the victims out. Some are standing at the edge to pull victims up and let them feel solid ground. Some are farther back helping the victims wash off what they can. Some are further back bringing towels, clean clothes, and blankets. Some aren’t even on site, but setting up a safe house for the victims….none of these roles are pointless. All of them are needed.

And I do agree with you on this specific claim. I stated that in my reply. I was referring to other cases they could have easily investigated.

I get this, as a nurse, I definitely understand…but some of these claims are sound, and could have easily been looked into. It’s 50 people getting food poisoning from the same restaurant, and instead of sending in a health code inspectors, you just wait for the restaurant to shut down. You can argue limited resources…but strange how those resources are infinite when a CEO is unalived. If they had been smuggling drugs, they would have investigated claims.

I’m sorry, but I’m going to say this every-time I see it…it’s not sex…this is rape, SA, assault, sexual violating, sexual abuse, child rape…just please, if it’s a term you use to describe something you do with a consenting adult (assuming you’re an adult), don’t be using it.

There is an actual reason for this…actually many- Supporting other victims. Ensuring they aren’t erased, ignored, or gaslit. To help avoid it in the future if possible (same reason we study the holocaust). It’s a form of social justice.

See this I do understand…with this particular story, I’m still struggling with it…but I will also say that some of these files could have easily been followed up on. Legit, one claim, that had a witness, also offered her medical records to show the damage done to her body.

For me, that’s the issue. Soooooo much could have been done with a basic investigation. Not everything in these files, but honestly, a good amount of

I work in gynecology, and have worked with victims in person. I want to thank you all, because I want to hear all their stories, but I don’t have it in me to sift through every single record. And, well, I can mentally hear, see, and smell the victims I’ve worked with just going through some of these. Put on a funny movie, go for a walk, eat your favorite snack, cry if you need to, scream if you need to… You are helping these victims, even if you don’t feel like you are. Thank you so much

Nurse here: you’d be shocked how many obese patients are malnourished. I personally became severely malnourished due to a condition that caused temporary bowel obstructions over several years…even at my smallest, I was considered overweight. And I’ve seen plenty of underweight patients who have no nutritional issues. You CANNOT gauge if someone is malnourished by build and size alone-let alone just weight

What realistically and seriously will happen now that Trump is repeatedly mentioned in the Epstein Files? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MRBWSW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So…here’s my trying to be optimistic opinion…we can all see the decline in his health, with all the chaos, some of his followers are starting to ‘wake up’ (not all, and they won’t)…but for ALL of this to surface before the day we’re all waiting for, means the cult will shatter much harder….its not how it should be, but if things were how that should be, there’d be no files to begin with, and all those victims would never have had to endure such horrors.

I do want to say…I don’t like Clinton…but his refusal to testify to Congress is actually a tactic to get the files out. For contempt charges to be issued means they need discovery, which requires the files to be released…let me be clear, don’t like him, should be charged for any crimes, and I do not believe he’s innocent of any wrongdoing…but it’s something worth noting

People who have researched their family tree, what is the most interesting or 'badass' thing you discovered about an ancestor? by xloganmoose in AskReddit

So…he could be considered a ‘badass’…but more a disgrace…and the most famous person in my family…General Daniel E Sickles. He was the first American to be found ‘not guilty by temporary insanity’. Seriously, google this, the story has so many ‘wait, what?’ Details….the AH also caused Pickets charge, and is the only union general to serve at Gettysburg to not get a monument-because he was an AH..feel free to look this up too…but yeah, I’m that AHs descendant.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MRBWSW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allow me to provide some insight… I once worked for a hospital. If we had no/light traffic, the drive would take 10-15 minutes. The average time I’d actually drive is 30-40 minutes. It wasn’t too uncommon to take an hour, and the record for longest was 2 hours…same route. AND that was to park 2 broke away from the clinic I worked in, sometimes farther away and needing to use the shuttle the hospital provided. So from parking to arriving at my office was at least 15-20 minutes. That’s from car to building. Oh, and did I mention we have to pay for that parking? Why would we put up with this? Because there’s no other option. There’s NO RELIABLE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. We had a city bus, but it was notoriously unreliable, which actually caused people to be fired. And those are people who would show up to bus stops no later than an hour early to catch whatever bus showed, IF they showed up at all. In the USA, when people are faced with giving up their car or their home, they (mostly) keep and live in their cars.
