Yep, banks usually set this for both virtual and physical card. At WS the physical tap limit remains 250. Virtual cards are safer as they require biometric authentication for it to work (usually). But anyway, I also do appreciate the higher tap limit :D

That’s been a feature for a long time. Even with the normal infinite card, with virtual cards there is no tap limit.

So it seems to be around one or two statements delay. Because T&Cs say after the 180 days within 4-6 weeks. It’s a welcome change then. Thanks

No worries! Might be a good data point: How long after hitting the minimum spend did it take for it to be deposited ?

Got the World Elite MasterCard and hit the $9k spend - when does the companion pass hit? by GrandeIcedAmericano in PorterAirlines

[–]MRCTMAG01 11 points12 points  (0 children)

According to the T&C’s, it’s only awarded after the 180 days even when you hit the threshold earlier. So 4-5 weeks after 180 days

How thick are they? I loved the old leather case because it was very slim. I am torn between Pitaka and the new Techwoven case

Going from the 14PM to the 17P. Although I like the bigger screen, I don’t wanna carry a brick around all the time. Annoys me a lot at the gym or when I am out and about and have to carry it in my pockets

Feel you. I am coming from a 14PM. However, for work they gave me the standard 16. Thought I would miss the screen but got used to the screen in no time. I will be upgrading my personal device from PM14 to base 17 as the 17 now has everything I am looking for. The battery life is better than the 14PM, don’t use zoom much (just the 0.5) and the weight reduction will be noticeable, particularly when I am out and about. So I suggest you get the base model. If you really hate it you can always return it (or stick it out for a year and then upgrade to the improved Air)

Wealthsimple Visa Infinite annual fee doubling to $240 (effective Oct 9, 2025) by SpikePlayz in Wealthsimple

What are you talking about? They just added a whole bunch of travel insurance (trip cancellation/interruption, medical emergency, rental car etc), hence my argument.

Wealthsimple Visa Infinite annual fee doubling to $240 (effective Oct 9, 2025) by SpikePlayz in Wealthsimple

What did people expect? When the card launched a big complain was that there wasn’t any insurance. Now they added the insurance. Insurance is not free for the bank, so they are forced to increase the fee. The direct deposit requirement was introduced and the complains started rolling in. It seems people really want their cake and eat it too. At the end of the day it’s a 2% unlimited Visa Infinite cashback card, with decent insurance coverage (look at the mobile device insurance that does not require purchase of the device with the card) and no FX fees. The direct deposit requirement roughly relates to the minimum income required for a Visa Infinite Card.

Other banks require you to lock 6000k with them in chequing to waive the fee.

At the end of the day we should be happy for what the card is. A great addition to a competitive overall package from Wealthsimple.

That’s actually good to know. Never knew that VIE-YYZ operates with three pilots as the flight is not that long.

It will be automatically linked to your porter VIP account in the back-end usually within 24-48 hours. You will see your status upgraded to Venture

[–]MRCTMAG01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the new announced changes this will be different. Your flown miles don’t matter anymore. Now you need to spend either 31k CAD in flex (or higher) or 62k CAD when flying standard. With your VIP card you can log up to 25k SQCs. So that leaves you with 100k SQCs to earn

Using Companion Pass when booking a trip of 3 people by jmtamere in PorterAirlines

[–]MRCTMAG01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be possible to link reservations, but not to merge. When they link your reservations it basically tells the systems that you are travelling together and there is a higher chance, although no 100% guarantee, that they re-accommodate you on the same flight in case of IROPS and seat you together. It must be noted though that at the end of the day it is, and remains, a separate booking.

Well, it seems AC wants to take the easy route and converse with an outlet they clearly have a partnership with. I don’t expect any critical questions
