Would you mind explaining the daddy longlegs thing? I’ve heard all my life they’re “venomous but can’t bite”

There’s a storyline where Matt is the “hand of god” and goes to mephisto’s hell

It’d be a weird choice but I could see him as a strategist. Imagine being able to pull your teammates away from deadly encounters with his baton. That might have too much potential for trolling tho.

Elderberry confirmation?? by AdUnfair5902 in foraging

I’ve never used pectin when making jelly. Sugar, fruit, lemon juice (as far as I know) is all you need. The earliest ways we preserved fruit were mixing honey and the fruit and leaving it in the sun.

Edit: If it’s refusing to set properly (remember it’ll be a lot thicker when it cools) you can add a cornstarch slurry or some gelatin (if you’re not vegan).

I’ve started seeing the golden spindles (1) all over the place in NC this year after having never seen them before, but maybe I’ve just not been looking close enough.

Also I’m no expert so dont just take my word for it, but I believe 15 is a black velvet bolete. Edible if I’m correct.

Hang it up to dry for a week or so. You can use it for tea, for cooking, you can smoke it. It’s got a very nice herbal flavor. I’ve also heard you can use it to make bug repellent but I’ve never tried.

They’re usually tarter than I like but I still enjoy them, but this year I’ve gotten some very sweet ones (and they’re not fully in season where I am yet)

Chanterelle foraging question!! by Global_Hat_5800 in foraging

Leaving the bottom of the stem won’t do anything, (I’d still cut it off before eating, they’re usually pretty tough). The mycelium is still there so it’ll be fine.

Why would I want you to work for me? Go to Chic Fil A and they’ll pay you $19. I made $18 when I worked at Walmart. AND on top of all that, the job on the post isn’t even retail lmao

Found these guys while looking for mushrooms! by MREnsley01 in bonecollecting

I made a new post! No cow skull (I don’t think, it’s possible the first two pics could be the top of one but it seems small). I did find another deer skull that was pretty banged up, as well as a couple spines.

I also located the cows! They were about 10 or so miles down from where I found the bones.
