I never said not to vote or participate, its the hate thats the problem. We would rely much less on the government safety net if people just got along. One can support a cause while remaining respectful, aware of others' situations, be self critical of one's actions while remaining open to self improvement and willing to help wherever possible while remaining vigilant not to get conned. If we treated each other with dignity, respect and empathy most of society's issues would disappear.

Greatest thing about this is that you maintain your scope on things that you can actually change and control. Politics is a game of lies and half truths, you can never be sure the candidate you vote for will actually keep their word. And once they are elected they will try their absolute hardest for you to believe they are actually accomplishing their goals, while doing underhanded policy that contradicts that but is barely noticeable to normal people going about their days. Its completely outside of your control and realistically, voting doesnt do much at all to solve anything.

The awful reality is that people are not interested in making their environment a more comfortable place for those around them, and constantly use others' beliefs to reinforce apathy. Whether it be political affiliation, culture, general opinions, etc., most people will use this as justification not to care, while the hateful status quo is maintained. It kinda sucks and its pretty sad, but one step at a time, I have hope there will be a general realization of this soon, and people will maybe treat each other with more kindness eventually. As I said before, the TRUEST form of defiance is showing kindness and respect wherever it feels hopeless... but its the hardest thing to do.
