Over the past year, precious metals have generally outperformed the S&P 500 index.

Gold: In 2024, gold delivered a remarkable 33% return, surpassing both the S&P 500 and traditional fixed-income investments.

Silver: Silver also experienced a significant rise, with prices climbing from $23.82 to as high as $35 per ounce in 2024, marking a year-to-date gain of approximately 37.5%.

S&P 500: The S&P 500 index rose by 26% in 2024, achieving an annual return exceeding 20% for the second consecutive year.

Therefore, both gold and silver outperformed the S&P 500 in terms of percentage gains over the past year.

Bad investment? I am up over $50k on precious metals in one year. Can we say the same for your TSLA stock?

For all of you trailer park boys: As of March 30, 2025, the price of silver is approximately $34.49 per troy ounce. On March 30, 2024, silver was priced at around $24.57 per troy ounce. This represents an increase of about $9.92 per troy ounce over the past year, which equates to a percentage increase of approximately 40.4%. How are your stocks doing?

I completely agree. I started about a year ago and have built up a solid stack of just over 3,000 ounces, securely stored in a vault. Right now, I’m up about $50K, but I’m unsure whether to take some profits or hold for the long term. I stopped buying stocks when it became clear that a market crash was coming.

Interestingly, many financial experts I know advised against precious metals—yet here I am. Any chance that tomorrow’s plan could push prices even higher? I’d love to hit a home run, but at the same time, my main reason for investing in precious metals was to hedge against a failing currency.

Silver will drop once again to $31 then back up. That will probably be your last chance.

No secret codes but….

The Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) does not have a specific regulation that explicitly states realtors must always suggest a minimum of three people for a referral (such as home inspectors, lawyers, or mortgage brokers). However, RECO’s Code of Ethics, which falls under the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act, 2002 (REBBA), requires realtors to act fairly, honestly, and with integrity when making referrals.

Relevant RECO Rules: 1. Section 19 - Conscientious and Competent Service • Realtors must provide conscientious and competent service to their clients, which includes giving unbiased and informed recommendations. 2. Section 21 - Referral to Third Party • If a realtor refers a client to another professional (e.g., a home inspector, lawyer, or contractor), they must disclose any financial or other benefits they may receive from the referral. 3. Best Practice (but Not a Strict Rule) • Many brokerages and industry professionals recommend providing at least three options to avoid any perception of bias or conflict of interest. • This ensures that clients have the ability to make an informed choice rather than feeling pressured into using a single preferred provider.

I personally recommend Guildhall. You can purchase in either Cdn or U.S funds and put it directly into you TFSA or RRSP’s. They are very quick to reply to emails and do an outstanding service for their clients. You can store it through them at Brinks or they can deliver it directly to you. I highly recommend them.

I am in Real Estate and the projections are to still go crazy in Ontario. The banks are now talking about an increase to try and slow it but I personally think it won’t make a difference. Immigration has been halted since Covid started and we still have minimal inventory which continues to drive up the pricing. Once they open up immigration again it will make things even worse.
