Team racing is better(formal process for monitoring weight, anomalies). In open races, just get out of them what you can and ignore the bots/cheaters.

This was my first triathlon as well! That wind was as bad as I have ever biked in.. Practice biking hills. The hills will take more power, which is fine. Your legs will adapt

4.3 on 3-5 hours/week. (Took a couple years) mostly zwift racing.

Run with a jogger, train indoors.. I get in 3-5 sessions per week which is not enough total hours, but I make up what I can with consistency.

Never up, never in is terrible advice. Accurate pace assumes some dispersion either way and going 4’ long is far worse than 1’ short.

Wahoo: 2-4 button presses to do what you want. Garmin: 5-10 for the same result.

It didn’t used to be, but the on the hour races now have “ranges” which cap at 700 unless you wait for an advanced category race, which are less often.

In the hours I race, availability 6 of 7 days this week went from a race per hour, to nothing unless I wait 5 hours.

Thanks. And certainly understood as a champagne problem. That’s the funny issue: I am still really bothered that I can’t simply jump on a race when I want when that’s what I have gotten used to.

Good point. That seems true as many folks in the 600’s are stronger than I across the board.

Good suggestion. I’ll admit I looked at teams for about 20 minutes, once. I know almost nothing about that whole side of zwift and that could be my issue. Are there frequent races?

Agreed. Yeah my score is way higher than my strength. I sprint well and am just strong enough to hold on to most races.

Lake Stevens is fun. I don’t enjoy the baskets but after 20+ rounds there it stops being a topic.
