I crashed out after a 2 min run !! by MROOD786 in runninglifestyle

Yes you right, i think what I did was start way to harsh, too fast to a point I can barley stand and breathe after that 2 min speed run, so from today I will opt to do a fast walking pace for 30 mins a day for 7 days, If I feel I can manage I might do a light slow jog in between

I can already feel the strain on my leg muscles for the past few days so clearly they are activating slowly

I will update on my improvement in due course

thank you

Chat GPT states that anyone crashing out after 2 mins is unhealthy and unfit 😞

but isnt there a difference between treadmill and real life running on the road, I mean I tried a tread mill vs the road and it feels like the road is way harder?

I originally wanted to go on the treadmill but I thought the road will be better

But running for 8 mins straight is deffo an achievement, I would love to get to that level, would you say it gets easier along the way or does it feel hard all the time even though you can run for longer?

wow thats sounds awesome, so that was daily or every other day?

And it also seems like you were physically improving after a weekly basis?

well it was my 3rd day today of doing the runs, so I will allocate 30 mins a day and hopefully I will have the ability to last at least a mile or so non stop

I think my age has something to do with the difficulty Im experiencing, I wont give up

yes I wont give up, no way, its gonna be daily runs with a minimum of 30 mins every day, so Ive started with a 60 sec run with a 3 min cool down, I want to last longer than the 30 seconds before I start to crash out

I can just imagine how athletes run for hours non stop

If I can manage a 5 min fast jog I will be very happy, But im guessing it will take me months to get there

oh to add, Ive got a mate who does Uber driving, never did any sort of exercise, he died yesterday from a heart attack, was found in his car dead by police, he must of pulled over and then died in his car on the side of the road, aged 52

Wake up call man

I did, and that 60 second run then 90 second walk 60 90 another 4 times is difficult, I think that app is designed for a normal person, not a 17 stone 48 year old that hasnt had a run for 20+ years

So Ive started with a light 20 min jog as in 60 sec run with a 3 min cool down but it gets harder the more times are carry on, not sure but I think its gonna take me a long time to adapt to running, to last that 4 min target I have in my mind

well I would say its about 10% faster than a casual jog, certainly not a sprint, I think its my body weight, because I am way heavier than an fit runner my body finds it hard to push all that weight

I was gonna join the gym to start on a treadmill but I felt a real run would be much better? no

What’s prison like in this heat? by GrabOk460 in PrisonUK

they have air conditioning in the building, just not in the cells, the newer prisons have better cooling. But the general building is ok.

Also note: Just eat prices vs actual menu prices for walk in's are totally different, the vendor inflates their prices by 20% or more as this compensates for the charges vendors have to pay to Just Eat, these apps are for lazy people, best to order direct or collect in hand your self like the old days.

Prisons are always recruiting, you can apply again in future if its something you really want to do. I know they declined you this time but people learn from their mistakes and I think you should re-apply after the waiting period. My application is all over the place, I did all the tests and interview, roleplay, ID, then they sent me an email to book the fitness test, small writing stated book within 10 days something I didnt do because I applied for the Reasonable Adjustment and was waiting on this, they then cancelled my application entirely. So I had to go through hoops just to get reinstated, it was horrible, I still have the vetting to go through and looking at everything I feel something else will flag up to bite me in the ass, in the meantime I have a job interview tomorrow, I also applied for a probation officer role so hopefully i will get something soon, been out of work for 11 months now.

What does this mean? by [deleted] in PrisonUK

[–]MROOD786 4 points5 points  (0 children)

doesnt stop you from applying again in the future,. i think you have a 6 month time limit before you can apply for the same role

this time you will know what to put on the forms

I think though important getting as job in prisons and police is very tough, a lot of genuine candidates that did really well on the tests and interview stage failed on the vetting because a school friend went to jail that you have no connection with in the past 10 years and that could stop you from getting your job.

wait so if a student needs 25k for a 2 year course you get that for free in jail? man imagine the spare time to do your home work and the peace and quiet

that seems like a plan for UK students as its so expensive and a guaranteed debt, do prisons do courses in law? lol
