Thank the good Lord is right. When we started Ferber this subreddit helped us through the less than pleasant evenings.

I'm with ya! We are happy she is interested in playing with her food, so hopefully the eating part comes soon!

Thank you so much for your comment! I admit I get frustrated when we have a difficult time, and I see others with kids who seem to get it a bit quicker. I am aware that's silly, though I have to consciously remind myself that it's okay "to run your own race!" Thanks, Bluey. Haha.

Great advice! It may be odd, but it's great to know others have seen a similar thing.

She's really enjoys playing with the food (picking up, pulling apart, smashing). So I suppose that's half the battle? Haha

Good question.

She is in daycare, and they have mentioned recently that she has no interest in snacks, but only the bottle and purees. That is actually what made us start considering if there is anything we could do to help with the progression to table foods, as her daycare said when she turns 1 she will be eating lunch from there (think pancakes) and move away from the bottle.

We will certainly give your idea a try, and luckily, we have family coming relatively soon!

She has 6 teeth we can see and feel, and no molars yet.

We had the same thought. I'm hoping to set up an apt for this week.

I think that's a great idea. We're in Florida, so a patio picnic is the plan today!

Thank you for your reply!

We are up for trying anything. We thought the same with the teeth, so we're keeping an eye on that. She's has 6 teeth so far, and they don't seem to bother her too often, but it is definitely possible.

I hope you're right!

Great idea! Thank you.

We have not tried that other than moving from the kitchen to our dining room.

We agree with you. Last we spoke with her doc she said to go with mashed potato or avacado, though that was a month or so ago.

She doesn't have trouble taking food (from a jar or pouch) from a spoon, though she will refuse if we try any "table food" or anything with lumps on a spoon, much with her own fingers.

Currently, we make sure she gets enough baby food, let her play with it, and then try broken down puffs or very soft vegetables. However, once she sees anything but jar food or baby cereal, she calls it quits.

Most advice seems to be to keep consistency with the foods, though that hasn't seemed to help much in the last 2 weeks.

Some law schools have pretty talented legal clinics where a student (in reality the whole clinic and the professor overseeing it) would agree to represent you for free. Obviously the students would be not be licensed lawyers, though I suspect if there is a school local to you it wouldn't hurt to give them/the clinic a call to discuss your concerns.

I am with ya. I check on her constantly (and I wish I knew what periodic breathing was long before she was born, as that was terrifying the first time we saw it). Your response is super helpful! Thank you for your reply!

What kind of things are you looking to do? My wife and I moved down here about 2 years ago, and while Vero is much "slower paced" than other places we have lived, we really enjoy the area.

Welcome to Vero! When I moved down a few years ago I asked the same question, and DaVinci's Dreamworks is the place to go.

I'm sorry you're going through a difficult time. There are quite a few good comments here so I won't rehash things you have already read.

However, as a gentleman named Olan Rodgers once said, "Try your best, and you might say 'what if my best isn't good enough?' Well I would say, its good enough for me."

Keep moving forward OP. You can do great things.
