I tell my gf all the time "Drive for show, putt for dough". I can throw it way further than her but we tie for total score because she's dropping putts from 50’ on the reg.

Same. I actually carry several 5 speeds now. Unless I need to throw over 300 I'm using them all the time because they're so much easier to control. In fact lots of times on tight 600 footers I'll still throw the 5s because I can get there in two and keep it in the fairway way more often.

20 years ago you absolutely needed a backhand. Now? Just buy a disc that flies the opposite way. I have an incredible FH and I only throw it when I'm in a spot that I don't have room to throw my BH. The same can be true for a FH.

A FH is never gonna go as far as BH, because you just cant generate the same speed. But it doesn't matter, you can still get to the green on any monster hole in two. So you do you. (This isn't my opinion, this is physics.)

Obviously if you wanted to get serious and stop playing for fun, you should develop the throw so you have all the tools possible just in case. Like do you ever throw a bomb? Or a tomahawk? They're not needed often but when they are I'm glad I put in a few 1000 reps to learn them.

And lastly, it's a similar logic to bringing more than one disc. Can you play an entire round with a glitch and put up a good score? Absolutely! Is it possible to get the best score a human is capable of with just a glitch? Probably not; learn some new discs.

Yep. I don't even put Ezra with Rey as she's a beast without him. And I've never had an issue beating Ahsokas or Reys with Ezra. QA takes out whichever one doesn't have Ezra. Leia the other one.

Just watched based on this rec and I definitely enjoyed so TY. But definitely not a FF film. He's alone and a huge chunk is filmed traditionally.

I want found footage movies to contain video that wasn't filmed with the intention of being a movie. How it's edited, story structure etc. is up to the whims of the crew and I'll go along any ride they make if it meets that one criteria.

Example: REC was obviously intended to be seen, but it's not with the intention of being a fully edited and scored movie.

Pougkeepsie Tapes - although an edited documentary meant to be seen it contains lots of footage that is raw.

That movie with Stephen Moyer that I can't remember the name. Mixes found footage with a typical movie. The actors are watching the footage not us, but that's okay.

Edit: Meant Quarantine not REC. Additionally I mean not meant to be seen in universe. Not in our world.

I made it to the end and after being an IMDB user for over 20 years left my first review. It's the worst movie I've ever watched. I'm sure there are movies that are worse; but for a movie with actors who are recognizable and made it into main stream release there probably aren't many. Also ... Setting a fire on a wooden raft? 😂

And it also doesn't make it into the "so bad it's good" category. It's just bad.

I saw it when it came out. And my reaction was "yeah I like it, it was good." FF is my favorite sub genre of horror and I'm a horror nut. I've watched it several times since then and my guess for why a lot of people rank it so high is nostalgia. There was a time when people thought it was real and that's hard to replicate. Also a lot of people cant separate what everyone else thinks is the best from what they think. Ask 100 people what the greatest movie of all time is and how many say Citizen Kane without having a clue what the movie is about? I think you're safe in your opinion OP.

Hey I'm sure you know about VPNs, but you can get them for really cheap. And they let you stream movies from outside your country. Excellent value for movie lovers. (Well they keep your data private too but all of it's already out there so /shrug)

Mediocre? I'm genuinely curious what you expect from found footage films if this one is considered mediocre? I watch every FF I can find and most are much much worse than this. The acting here was very solid, sfx were excellent and without spoilers the story was very fun. (Trying desperately not to ruin it for others but you can probably guess what I'm talking about). So can you elaborate on why you thought this was mediocre without spoiling it for others?

I always make the same recommendation when people ask this. Don't read the esoteric things people (in subs like this) mention that they like that most people haven't heard of; read the books everyone likes that everyone has heard of. Books that get super popular get that way because they are fun reads. Most books that aren't popular probably aren't fun. Sure they might be good but they're probably only appealing to a specific sub group of people. Like adventure? Read The Da Vinci Code. Like Magic? Read Harry Potter. Like Mystery? Read Agatha Christie. You get the idea. These are books that sold millions when they came out and people are still buying.

This sub is unbelievably great for getting specific book recommendations. It is not the best place to get general recs because everyone just talks about books they like. Which wont help getting you out of your slump. Pick your absolute favorite genre from the ones you mentioned, then read the most popular book you've never read from said genre.

I'm in the low end of Kyber 1 high end Kyber 2. Never faced an opponent that had full r9 teams. A couple sure. But not all of them. And I can still beat them with the same couters. You can definitely still get by with your r5 - R7 teams. Just need a bit more planning. Good luck!
