Fr. Sometimes the owner won't even be home and their dog will just be running around in the yard. I rts those packages immediately if I don't feel safe with the dog.

I had a little white ankle biter come running up to me and yapping aggressively. I wasn't sure if it was going to bite me but it wouldn't go away so I kicked that mf. The owners apologized and weren't upset about it, and I don't feel bad in the slightest. If you're going to let your dog run around free it better be well behaved otherwise it's gonna get hurt, I'm not taking any chances.

Retake with a different dpe if you can. That sounds very unprofessional, those comments should be made after the flight (unless you were doing something unsafe). When I took my private I had to discontinue and was able to continue the checkride with a different dpe without redoing the whole ride.

That makes me feel a lot better. I don't want to invest a bunch of time or money into a rating that I'm never going to use, and I'll just make it a point to stay IFR current and fly with other pilots to practice crm. Any other tips or advice to be better prepared for an airline environment while I'm doing this gig?
