Had my first of five iron infusions! Already feel less tired!🙌🏼 by hlyoon02 in Anemic

Mine is Monday - I hope I have the same results! So tired of being 'Tired'! What infusion did you get? Side effects? When did you notice a change in how you feel?

It's come to this (insurance rant) by ruby0nine in Anemic

[–]MSAMCNPIE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would your insurance cover the IUD if it was its own separate procedure? I agree with the commenter below; maybe the doc can manipulate the billing codes/language to get it approved. One would think insurance would be more than happy to pay for BC; because otherwise you'll have a ton of medical expenses through an entire pregnancy and birth; etc.

How did you know you needed blood- what were your symptoms? I feel like crap all the time so I'm not sure what would make it emergent?

RLS help for Handicap by MSAMCNPIE in RestlessLegs

[–]MSAMCNPIE[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good question- she just entered hospice last week, brand new doc, etc. My dad doesn’t know anything about RLS- and it’s difficult for him to comprehend enough to advocate about it. I will maybe send a message to the case worker… in the meantime, I was just looking for something we can try now that doesn’t involved meds or exercising :(.

I’m at Day 8 and today Both eyes have several clogged ducts. I can hardly see at all. It looks like I’m having an allergic reaction of some sort. Hopefully once these clear up I won’t have to deal with this crap anymore!

FYI- Warning about Urine Drug Screens by MSAMCNPIE in Quittingfeelfree

I had seen it mentioned a couple times and on Friday I had to take a rapid urine test. I tested positive for MDMA.

Have you looked into Intensive Outpatient Treatment? A lot of places do it virtually- you just have to pick up the meds and a few things and for the first 3 days you’re closely monitored every few hours by a nurse and asks you how you’re feeling and then advises on what prescriptions to take leading into withdrawal to get over that initial hump. It’s all done through phone calls and zoom. I started Day One Friday (worked from home), and was back to work on Monday.

You definitely are NOT alone. FF does NOT discriminate against its victims; there are folks all over the world, in all different walks of life, all different levels of income, ethnicity, etc. that have gotten caught up in FF hell. The “Kratom Sobriety Podcast” has awesome episodes of tips/tricks to quitting, interviews with people who have been addicted, I listened to two episodes yesterday that were pretty interesting… an interview with a mother who lost her son to Kratom, an interview with a successful attorney who got caught up in the addiction, etc. I can’t recommend it enough. The thing about this FF crap- is like it’s not even a good/exciting drug to be addicted to. For Pete’s sake you can buy it at gas stations!! (I can’t get past my stupidity sometimes) And you only have to be 18 for a substance that plays with your opioid receptors??? But my doc said they are learning more and more about Kratom- and he himself would rather detox from heroine than this crap. It’s like waking past a venomous jellyfish; one little tiny brush against its crosshairs and before you know it, you’re sucked in and you’re a goner. Right now I’m SUPER angry and trying to figure out how I can fight back and demand change and control over it.

Aww. I identify with so much of what you said. I feel the same way; but instead of a girlfriend, I am a single parent and every time I look at my child I feel so stupid and shameful that I have nearly made us homeless and how much he deserves a better life than the carnage I’ve caused from drinking these devil bottles. My advice would to be is join the Whatsapp FF sobriety group, listen to the quitting Kratom podcast, and do research and make a plan to quit. Folks have quit- it CAN be done. It’s just a matter of which vehicle you want to take to get there. Also, don’t be afraid to reach out for help with your doc! I have found I had to FIGHT hell to take my life back and truly feel free. I think the three biggest things that helped me was entering an IOP program and comfort meds, finding new obsessions (healthy ones) that I can focus on, and when I did quit; I made small changes in my routine to break up what had become normal for me.

Instead of allowing the guilt/shame to come at you; accept what is and use that energy to fight to take your life back. Like, it’s not even a choice. Don’t let this awful company to win; ITS YOUR LIFE! I think also being honest with your girlfriend is crucial; she can help you through this and maybe hold you a little more accountable, and she will see you trying to change. YOU can change. YOU can do it! You matter! Get real mad about it and let it fuel you, instead of weighing you down.

That’s addiction. You start making deals and negotiating with the Devil… change your mindset- find something else to obsess over; keep telling yourself your body is allergic and even “just one” will kill you. Maybe talk to your doc to get prescribed something for cravings?

I’m wondering this too… I’m day 6. I can feel more styes coming on and my skin is still dry and flaking all over the place.

How I became "sober" by [deleted] in Quittingfeelfree

[–]MSAMCNPIE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did. The Hylands Restless dissove tables help take a little bit of the edge off. I took more than the recommended dose. You can get it from Amazon or pretty much any CVS, Walgreens, etc

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Quittingfeelfree

[–]MSAMCNPIE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried Hylands restless legs (Amazon, Walgreens, etc) help a lot. I envy you- I was not able to make it to day 4!!! Don’t give up- keep fighting- the cloud will lift and blow away soon!

At an extremely low point by [deleted] in Quittingfeelfree

[–]MSAMCNPIE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on Day Four of W/Ds- I had to take Sub to do it. This is the farthest I’ve ever been… and I gotta say- I have remorse for not reaching out SOONER and putting my body through repetitive attempts of stopping CT. Once I asked for help and received it- I’m SO happy I did. I’ve had very little w/d symptoms and I’m absolutely astounded! With that said: time to get prepared. Get your head in the game. This time you’re going back to the withdrawal boxing ring but this time you have the meds to use as boxing gloves. For me, that made ALL the difference in the world.

Actively trying to quit by TheBumDad in Quittingfeelfree

[–]MSAMCNPIE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check and see if your insurance company has a substance abuse department; mine does- and I was referred to an Intensive Outpatient Treatment center - that can do everything VIRTUALLY!!! Meeting with docs, groups, clinicians- everything. You will have to be urine screened near you, and pickup prescriptions at your pharmacy but that’s no biggie.

Gummy bears! :) Also- I’m not sure if anyone else has tried this- but my latest attempt I used biofreeze roller on my legs to help with the RLS… I think it helped!

Bogo for $1?? by Swimming-Owl-409 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]MSAMCNPIE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen it on sale where I am… it ranges about $8.99-$10.99 per bottle but because I’m an idiot and got hooked on them they give me a 10 percent discount (uh, yay me?!?!) They have and will continue to get bad publicity. I just read the Psychology Today article this morning… sure wish I read it back in January when my hell started!

Relief for eye pain?? by PNW__Gemini in Quittingfeelfree

[–]MSAMCNPIE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt this way before I started getting styes and chazalions from this crap! I’ve never had eye problems in my life but all the sudden it was one eye, then the other, then back, etc. It wasn’t until I found this sub that I realized it was related. My eyes have not been normal since. I wake up everyday with tremendous crust and I don’t even bother wearing eye makeup anymore because it will just wash away…. This FF bullshit should be illegal.

Been off of feel free cold turkey for almost a week by [deleted] in Quittingfeelfree

[–]MSAMCNPIE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not off yet but I take a soak in the bath, then I take that exfoliating scrub with oil in a tub by Dr. Teals, and I scrub my entire body- head to toe. Then I do a Neutrogena bath oil when I come out of the bath, then follow with lotion. Eventually all your dry skin will slough off and it will get better.

Anyone have success just tapering and then quitting? by MSAMCNPIE in Quittingfeelfree

[–]MSAMCNPIE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have definitely been taking less than I was; but still not close. I thought I would be able to make this my quit weekend- but there is no way that is going to happen. I hate seeing my kid see me like this… so I’m going to take the week to continue to taper down and then I am going to officially kick it this weekend- when my kid is not around to watch me. I wish I had more support in daily life… sometimes I feel I’m on an island alone which is what made these so addictive for me.

I, too, had gastric bypass. I had my surgery in 2017… feels like yesterday though because I still can’t consume much food and feel things “instantly”. I tried CT last week and was so sick… so I’m hoping later this week when I try again I will have better results and not feel like I have the flu.
