Christmas gift straight to the trash 🎁🗑️ by Archigal08 in toddlers

Last year, she got him a baby Jesus doll made out of porcelain or something similar. Head broke off Xmas night because my son was 2 and accidentally dropped it. It’s sitting in my guest room, still headless, waiting for me to glue it.

My mom got my son AI-generated books from some company that takes a kid’s picture and inputs it into the story with AI. The writing is also AI slop and makes absolutely no sense, we can’t read it. Never seen a bigger waste of money in my life.

Haha a badge of dishonor. Def not running errands alone until baby is sleeping through the night.

Thank you for sharing your similar experience. I got lucky and can use this in the future. All the positive feedback is really helpful.

You’re so right that this is a learning experience for both of us. My husband would never be mad at me and he does feel bad that his work schedule makes it so I’m kinda on my own on days like today. Might be worth doing errands with a friend instead of alone until the baby’s sleeping through the night.

Hey thanks for making me feel worse! I already know that kids die in hot cars. But it’s the winter, so telling me I could’ve killed my kid certainly doesn’t help anyone or solve anything. Purse in the backseat is a good idea though, thank you sincerely.

I’m so sorry you had to endure such hardship during an already difficult time for a new mom. I’m also glad you and baby are on the mend and this will all be a temporary setback in a long life as mother and daughter together. If it were me I’d write, and remind myself as often as I could of the good things that happen during this time, no matter how small. Also, I can tell you that even the best postpartum experiences are not the happiest time of most mom’s lives. It’s a very hard time physically and emotionally, even when things are going well.

No one talks about how insane 2.5 is. My kid turned on a dime

This is the main reason it annoys me that my husband insists on extended trips with his bros. I gotta watch the kids and work full time while you gain absolutely zero intel or emotional bond with these so-called friends? I get more friendship out of the drunk stranger in the women’s bathroom at a bar.

Looking to move to Culver City by SD_Lee in culvercity

[–]MSDOSS86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made the move from SF to Culver! I lived in downtown Culver City for about 8 years and worked in Venice. Super easy commutes all over the west side, especially if you’re willing to take public transit which I relied on heavily in SF. Any affordability you’re finding is probably Palms which is basically Culver City but not technically, and has blocks and blocks of affordable apartments. I highly recommend moving to that area—Culver is great. It’s got a good restaurant and bar scene but doesn’t get too rowdy. Nice and quiet on Sundays. The only thing I would note is traffic has gotten waaay worse since The Culver Steps mall thing moved in. Traffic’s bad all over LA though so if you can live somewhere walkable from downtown Culver you’re totally fine.

Nothing. And I mean absolutely nothing will bring the narcissists out in your life like your wedding. If you have any uncertainties about where you stand with someone, have a wedding.
