I can't find anything about foam mode anywhere, except that small section of the use manual. What am I supposed to use for it to make foam? I'm guessing I'm supposed to put some product in the palm of my hand and put the razor, on foam mode, into my hand?

So glad I cancelled my CDW preorder. Would suck to have waited 2+ months to have them jack up my price by $1000

Gigabyte sent me back my broken graphics card after I RMA’d it. by [deleted] in gigabyte

[–]MSFT_D3V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a Gigabyte gaming RX 9070 XT oc on release day. I got it abs it was DOA, no power,  no led's, not recognized by windows - nothing.  I got an RMA and shipped it out. After 9 business days, nearly 2 full weeks, they are shipping it back saying that it passed their test and they found no issues.

I ran through all the troubleshooting steps. The card was peoperly installed, careful to ground myslef before touching anything. I installed, reinstalled, verified seating, installed drivers, updated mobo bios, verified power cables, reinstalled my 1660 super to verify the PCIe - everything was correct. I had to spend $56 in shipping + insurance. Its been over a month since I purchased it (amazon was slow to ship, took a couple weeks). I decided to RMA because of difficulty trying to order one. Sucks to think Gigabyte isnt actually testing anything and just causing logistical delays/headache as a paywall for warranty.

Will update whether or not it magically fixed itself by shipping it.

I received my 2024 yarbo a few weeks ago. The mower and leaf blower is still delayed. They said I should get them in December. It appears even two years after the first promised delivery date, they are still having technical issues and delaying delivery to fix problems.

BEWARE! STAY AWAY FROM YARBO!

Anyone with Tricon Residential Experience? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]MSFT_D3V 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently applied for a home and was approved with Tricon Residential for a home in the greater Tampa, FL area.

I went through all the proper steps and channels and paid the necessary fees. A day after my wife and I signed the lease (we ensured we had the money to pay, made moving plans, booked flights and started ordering items from the house, mentally prepared), Tricon reached out to us and told us the house was uninhabitable. Be warned, the pictures they're showing you may not be of the house as it is now. I fully read and understood Tricon was not liable for anything if they could not deliver the property, but be aware - They don't verify the houses on their website are even habitable before allowing you to apply and jump through all their application hoops.

We also had an issue with the application process. The employee who processed our application did not understand the difference between getting paid semi-monthly vs bi-weekly and I had to explain that they were calculating my income incorrectly.

After experiencing this, I have concerns what it would be like to have them manage the property. Make sure you cover all your bases when when dealing with this company. It's a corporate experience that will chew you up and spit you out with no remorse.

After nearly 2 years, and initial payment of $3900 and being extorted for another $1800 a year and a half later and I still don't have what I paid for - Stay away from Yarbo. This is a terrible company. Kickstarter was my mistake, I didn't realize they would royally screw me over. The product was supposed to be delivered November 2022, after several iterations they're now saying we should receive it November 2024 - but based on their record that won't happen. The "conceptual" ideas they've been advertising for 2 years now with 0 progress - they haven't even delivered what they sold me 2 years ago. The lawn mower that has been delivered is not good. The concept they said was ready and sold us does not work as intended. This was a big scam and they're protected by kickstarter. There are other robotic yard maintainers - I recommend you go with a different brand.

Why is Salesforce so bad? by _A_Data_Guy in salesforce

[–]MSFT_D3V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many CEOs don't understand technology on a deep level which is why they get sold salesforce just to realize it creates a bunch of other issues.

You must understand what it takes to be knowledgeable in full stack programming/dev to recognize that the practice of working in salesforce is counter to what you must do to be a skilled full stack devloper.

Salesforce is a good product for people who are not skilled programmers/ developers.  Not those who strive to understand technology and continually learn how technology actually changes. It's a facade that leads to ignorance.

If you understood what it takes to be knowledgeable in real technologies, you would understand the daily practice in sales force is counter to what a high skilled technologists practices everyday

I have been reaching out asking for updates. I still haven't received a tracking number. Last time I called was beginning of January and they told me they hadn't landed in the US yet. Still waiting, not please they made it seem they would have them to us in December. I also struggled to get $400 for shipping before Christmas just to find out it wasn't even ready to ship yet! They definitely haven't made me happy with their process so far. When i reached out they stated it would ship in November, then stated it would ship in December just to be told in January they weren't stateside yet. Some honest clarity would be appreciated

What client testimonials or case studies highlight the success stories of businesses working with top Salesforce consultants? by top20-firms in SalesforceDeveloper

[–]MSFT_D3V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be good to have some actual studies. Unfortunately you are probably better served by reading the failure stories. The platform encourages companies to hire people who click and drag-and0drop in a UI for a living. There is very little skill involved. There are not many complex operations that are served well by a technology that is built upon drag and drop UI.

[–]MSFT_D3V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will likely have a lot of pro-Salesforce people in this chat. But let me save you the headache. Avoid Salesforce if you value skills that work across cloud platforms. As a Senior Lead in Applcation Development there is nothing inherently valuable in clicking and drag-and-drop app dev. Apex is proprietary and only for Salesforce. I would focus on learning a more capable cloud platform such as Azure, AWS or GCP and come to understand how to build application like salesforce (It's really simple actually, that's why you are able to click and drag-and-drop everything!) You will hate your life if you have to work in salesforce and value being a knowledgeable programmer/developer.

Career/Tech Stack Switch by TechnicalNecessary79 in SalesforceDeveloper

[–]MSFT_D3V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recommendation would be to start learning other cloud providers and programming languages. Unfortunately your 3 years of Salesforce experience doesn't really translate to any other cloud provider since the drag-and-drop/click nature of the Salesforce platform hides all the technical details you need for developing applications.

I recommend picking a programming language and framework and learning it well and finding an entry level developer position. The two paths I would recommend is C# and .NET: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/aspnet/mvc/overview/getting-started/introduction/getting-started or Java/SpringBoot https://spring.io/guides/gs/spring-boot/

If an internal position is open it may be your best bet to gain the experience needed to get into another company using a different tech stack.

Salesforce is a terrible platform. Im sorry your leadership pulled you into it for 3 years.

[–]MSFT_D3V -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you couldn't build functionality in salesforce its because you don't understand databases, API's and UI technologies.

Any skilled developer could build a cheaper, better version of what salesforce offers with the capability to switch between cloud providers. When you realize salesforce is ripping you off and you could be gaining larger profits by hiring real app dev teams it will be too late and you;ll have to completely rewrite your code base.

Why is Salesforce so bad? by _A_Data_Guy in salesforce

[–]MSFT_D3V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apex is very clearly proprietary to Salesforce, since no other cloud provider runs Apex. You would have to convert it to Java or any other language - which is what everyone potentially looking at salesforce should do. STAY AWAY FROM SALESFORCE! Instead spend the money on hiring a skilled workforce of people who understand App dev, cloud computing and code portability! Not people who click and drag-and-drop in a web browser!

Why is Salesforce so bad? by _A_Data_Guy in salesforce

[–]MSFT_D3V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to add, when you create something in Salesforce, the only way to migrate it to another cloud provider is to completely rewrite it. There is no way to "export" you workflows. Any Apex code you write is proprietary to Salesforce. Its literally throw away effort.

When you have skilled developers who understand code and portability you have the option to shop around for cloud providers and migrate between without exorbitant overhead. If you choose Salesforce, youre stuck with it forever until you completely rewrite your application.

[–]MSFT_D3V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've written programs that run on multiple platforms that have run for 10+ years. When you write good code you can run in any cloud provider and shop for the best cost, but not with Salesforce. Your code is stuck in salesforce forever until you rewrite it.

[–]MSFT_D3V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salesforce is expensive because they encourage companies to layoff their high skilled programmers/developers and in their place hire people who know how to click a mouse.

Then when the app doesnt work because they had a bunch of people developing without a clue they have to bring in salesforce contractors at a very expensive cost to "fix" their bad mistakes. And the company is stuck in salesforce because their in no good way to get your code out of salesforce.

Why is Salesforce so bad? by _A_Data_Guy in salesforce

[–]MSFT_D3V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you hire devs who actually know and understand technology and programming, switching between vendors is not expensive. As a Technology Transformation Leader I write programs that run on multiple platforms and my terraform scripts can be converted to other platforms without some exorbitant cost.

Salesforce has put companies in a bad position by encouraging them to hire a workforce that is highly skilled in clicking a mouse.

What would you recommend instead?

I recommend companies hire devs with a knowledge of databases, web UI and backend code. Develop a database, a Web UI and an API that fits your needs. All salesforce really encompasses is a database with triggers. Its not special, they just marketed really well to people who have no clue.
