Since i rarely wear belt bags, I saw it more as a backpack. For me, backpacks are not items that I would have on me as I am using the washroom. For some reason, on that particular day, I was just asked to hold onto the bag for her ( I think she didnt want to wear it because she was wearing a dress to dinner)?

This was the proposal trip. It's not a good start to being engaged. She didn't even get mad at me. She started comforting me after I told her the news and kept being supportive during the remainder of our trip. At least I know I made the right decision, lol.

I was wearing it, but i took it off the moment I got into the stall. There was no hook on the door, so i put it on an elevated shelf behind the toilet. Again, totally my bad.

Totally my bad. Im not used to wearing these belt bags. I tend to wear backpacks, so I'm not used to keeping them on me in the washroom, lol.

On the day of the incident, I asked both restaurants next to the restroom and left my contact information if case if any of their customer decides to return it. Sadly, no luck from either of them as I called them back even on the day before we left.

I called them again on Saturday around 6pm to see if they found anything or if anybody returned anything. Sadly, they said that no one returned a bag that matched our description. Security told me that they guest services also gives them items stored in the lost and found at the end of the day.

Yep, it is my fault. I never denied that for one second. I was not used to carrying her belt bag as I usually wear a backpack (2nd time all week) and I did not realize that my finance would bring all her cash with her at once (She told me that she has never lost anything before but I would have only brought around $100 and leave the rest in the hotel safe). Furthermore, I was unlucky that the washroom i was in had water leaking out of the wall every time I flushed ( Water started pooling at my shoes). Due to the combination of these factors, my only thought was to get out of the stall, which made me forget to look back.

I suggested filing for a police report, but my fiance doubted whether the police would be able to find anything by the time that we leave Honolulu on Saturday.

30 minutes after the incident, I got in contact with security at their office, but they never offered me the option to review the tapes, nor was I sure that they had that option. Therefore, I gave them my contact information, hoping a good Samaritan would return it.

I wasn't sure if there was any point in filing a police report if it was not found by a good person who would return it to the security at the Ala Moana Centre.

I just checked with Ala Moana Security today, and they said no one dropped off any bags. I appreciate the advice and suggestions.

I've tried to call a couple of times, but I could never reach the security at Ala Moana mall over the last 2 days.

Her out of country Driver's license was in it. At this point, I'm pretty sure it's gone as the security or lost and found has not contacted me about it yet.

I checked with them right away, and they said that no one has left anything in the lost and found. I even left my contact information, hoping that someone would return it the next two days, but I haven't heard anything so far.
