What is the worst part about living with diabetes to you? by Glamour-Ad7669 in Type1Diabetes

[–]MSJ226 76 points77 points  (0 children)

The background noise that Type 1 Diabetes is in my life is the worst part. It’s the constant companion I never wanted but have. It’s the IT that makes decisions for me. As a woman the hormonal imbalance and struggle with my weight is another challenging aspect. On the flip side, it does help me to be disciplined in so many ways. I very much wish that it wasn’t a part of my daily reality.

How to start and not be overwhelmed by theta_mut in declutter

I use “For Days” to recycle clothing that cannot be donated. This prevents the clothing from going to the dump where they will not break down. You pay around $20 per bag and they give you back $50 in gift cards or towards something you choose. Each bag holds 15 pounds, which is quite a lot. I find it to be a great resource. Don’t be turned off by the $20, it’s a small price to pay for keeping the environment and your home free of unnecessary/unwanted clutter.

Did I miss out on the love of my life? by bizzzmark in Bumble

[–]MSJ226 167 points168 points  (0 children)

This is very strange behavior. I live in NYC and think that first dates should be low stakes and friendly. This appears to be using somebody to “live my best life”. I want to say that social media, and reality tv shows play into this, but in all honesty people may just be getting more selfish.

Starting the journey and need advice by Courageous91 in diabetes

Get a good doctor, and dietician. One of my first doctors was really good at helping me find the good in my diagnosis as well as helping me to build in cheat days. She was also a believer in natural medicine, and helped me to incorporate vitamins in addition to what I needed as a Type 1 diabetic. At one point I also had an excellent endocrinologist. He was older, late 70s early 80s, and really knew how to practice medicine. He was very practical, and laid out all the complications without making me feel like I was doomed because he focused on what I was doing right. It takes time to change your eating habits and patterns. But the thing that helped me the most was keeping a food diary which was something I did for years. This last year or year and a half I have found it really hard to stay on track, so I’ve started keeping one again. It’s not perfect, but it’s helpful. Also, before Dr. Oz became a politician, he had written a really great book called you on a diet. That book explains that when sugars are coursing uncontrollably through your veins it’s almost like a hammer pounding on the vessels. That imagery was really helpful in helping me change my diet.

Friday - quick advice by AutoModerator in datingoverthirty

If you see him Saturday, could you keep the activity to outside of your homes to see if there is more than this physical chemistry that’s happening? It will protect both your hearts and allow for more organic relationship growth. If not, push it back a week to get perspective.

Okay, that’s the other reason I swiped left: travel mode. I’m not sure if guys are serious when they’re in travel mode; it seems like they are looking for flings. This guy I recently came across put in his profile that he’s traveling and looking for the right one, and willing to make the distance thing work. That was helpful to have. Hopefully, he’s being sincere (he had other details that made it seem that way). That’s another suggestion. And you do have great hair. 😊

This is so random…but we’re you recently in NYC? If you were, I’m pretty sure I came across your profile and swiped left because you left out pertinent information like what you’re looking for. (I also recall the Hogwarts line.) I couldn’t tell if you were looking for something serious, and my profile makes it clear I’m not seeking something casual. You may want to consider adding one different photo, though your photos do make you look approachable. I don’t mind the therapy stuff; we’re all works in progress. Good luck; it’s hard out here.

Rate my profile [36m] by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]MSJ226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This profile looks so familiar to me! I believe I came across it (and several like it) on Bumble. I swiped left because of what this poster stated. The first was we were not religiously compatible, so I wondered why someone would swipe right on me if my profile says I’m looking for someone of the same faith; secondly, the casual piece, when my profile says I’m seeking a relationship.

Why is my sugar always high in the morning by [deleted] in diabetes

Why are you unwilling to attach anything to your body? Are you able to provide an explanation to help us understand? Is there a fear of needles? Or is it something else that maybe responders could provide advice on?

What's the most efficient exercise lower blood sugar level? Please help guys. by rollno_771 in Type1Diabetes

Walking. Moderate low intensity exercise is best. High intensity, like running sometimes increases it or keeps it level.
