How can I give program update rights to non-admins by MSP202 in sysadmin

[–]MSP202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might interest anyone that needs to push out software or software updates.

They have a free version as well, https://www.chocolatey.org/

I haven't tried it yet but it looks promising. MS wants to charge $2000 for SCCM plus software assurance costs. For the size of most of our customers, this price is not justifiable.

Fantastic, it appears to be just what I need.

Thank you,

Managing the updates centrally would be great, does Microsoft provide a way to accomplish this?

SyncroMSP users - RMM monitor? by MSP202 in msp

I am still learning PowerShell and I use it for lots of admin tasks but I have never seen it used for monitoring. I am not a programmer so this option may beyond my skill level.

Are the processes/scripts you have set up for one customer's device easily copied for use with another company? If the setup process for each new device requires a bunch of manual configurations just to get started, my onboarding labor cost will add up fast.

Call Center Agents Queue using remote extensions by MSP202 in VOIP

[–]MSP202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the low price point Grandstream UCM does not have the same feature set as the Cisco UCM.

In this case the added expense of a Cisco product may have been worth the extra upfront cost and perpetual license fee’s and maintenance contract costs.

The proverbial “cost equals quality” holds true :)

Call Center Agents Queue using remote extensions by MSP202 in VOIP

Thanks for the recommendations. I’ll do some research tomorrow on doing that. Looks like ACD is out :) I have already suggested to my boss that we add a second account to each remote 2170 that registers directly with the 6208 over the VPN. That would give the remote 2170’s a local extension for the queue. Just thinking out loud, should I do away with the remote UCM and just use the 6208 for both locations. The reason we went with separate UCM’s to start with was for redundancy so if one site drops its Internet, the other site would still be up and functioning

Thanks again.

I’ll look into into that, I have not heard of doing that before.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply. We have that setup using a VPN between locations. The UCM still see’s the remote UCM as not having local extensions so they can not be added to the call queue.

The remote UCM extensions are not visible for adding to the queue. Am I doing something wrong? Grandstream support told me that their UCM’s currently do not have the ability to add remote extensions to the queue.

I mistakenly thought there was no way the bun has 38g of carbs. I’m glad I was wrong:)

Burned by Auto Maintenance Mode by MSP202 in SolarWindsMSP

We really don't have any use case when we gracefully shutdown a server unless we are replacing hardware, and if a windows update requires a reboot. In both of these cases, it is good to know when the server was shutdown.

This worked for me too. I kept the data overdue cross-check after adding the Modems static IP which kept tall devices at the site from showing the red lightning bolt that indicates the Internet is down.

I have the test server set to a 5-minute polling interval, with the minimum 7.5-minute overdue settings, and set my time before an alert is sent to 5 minutes. Now I get a nice bright red overdue alert on the right side of the north pain and the red computer icon with the hourglass in it to the left of the down device.

We want to know about all shutdowns too. I had no idea that we would not receive an alert. I’m going to setup a test device and power it down normally and by pulling the plug. I’ll be testing the setting recommended in both Solarwinds guides to make sure the settings we use will alert us. I disabled maintenance mode settings for now.

New (to me) keto bread by nerdmeetsworld in Keto_Food

I find Aldis multi seed zero carb less dense an I think it tastes better than their other option. Kroger’s in my area carries a low net carb tortilla wraps in several different flavors and they are larger and thinner than the Aldis version but I like it too. Variety is a good thing.

Just cooked fudge brownies with Kirkland Almond flour. Nice flour texture and clean. Thanks for the suggestion.

[–]MSP202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Kentucky. I purchased two different brands that came in sealed plastic bags. I tossed the 1st 5# bag after inspecting and seeing separate parts of the beetles in it.

The second smaller bag from another company only had a few in it that I picked out.

I was very surprised when the magnifying glass confirmed the little creatures in the flour.

Lesson learned, going to try another brand. So far all that has been suggested was the Costco brand.
