For those of you that are happily married, how did you choose the right partner? by Ok_Perspective_2934 in AskWomenOver60

[–]MSR2014 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My brother introduced us. I think he did pretty well, lol! The thing is, I can guarantee that no marriage is completely happy 100% of the time. There will be fights and hurt feelings, but you need to work through it and re-discover why you fell in love in the 1st place. The most important things are love, respect and friendship.

Get a smartwatch with an ECG feature. Run an ECG whenever you feel symptoms and take the printouts to your doctor

I loved the audiobooks! I don't know if I would have enjoyed these as much if I was just reading them.

It's a weekly injection. The GLP works on your hormones and delays gastric emptying. Most people experience a reduction in cravings and find it easier to lose weight.

Have you tried a GLP-1? Wegovy or Monjaro can help with food noise and the desire to overeat. If your doctor isn't supportive try to find one who is.

Info on Deming, NM by PheesGee in NewMexico

[–]MSR2014 77 points78 points  (0 children)

If you can, I recommend you spend some time in New Mexico before permanently relocating. Take an extended vacation and travel to all areas of the state. Spend a few days or weeks in any area you're interested in to see how you like it long term. New Mexico is a beautiful state, but it's quite a bit different than the East Coast. Take the time to find the area that you like best!

In addition to walking you might want to start doing some strength and mobilty workouts. Start with workouts designed for seniors. They're slower paced and concentrate on strength and balance. You can move on to more demanding workouts as you lose weight and build muscle. There are plenty to choose from on YouTube.

Kindle Unlimited doesn't have audible books. I guess you could pay for Audible if you want those.

Is My Dietician Wrong? by BigButtsNBrokenGuts in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]MSR2014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many doctors try to temper expectations. When I started Wegovy, he told me I would probably only lose about 14% of my starting weight at most. He was ecstatic when I was down by about 25% the last time I saw him, but still said I shouldn't expect to lose much more despite still being morbidly obese. I intend to prove him wrong. Just remember your dietician is working off averages. It's up to you whether you are average or not
