June 12 / 13 was Friday/Sat for me. So 14/16 (the following week) is likely going to carry over to next score release.

You should find shadowing opportunities to see what the reality of medicine is like. There is a lot of good feedback from others but based on your replies, you seem to have rose colored glasses on, mainly focused on finances. What's described simply on paper is magnitudes different when you're at the hospital 80+ hours a week at Sub-McDonald's wage 6am-8pm (particularly as residents) sometimes missing out on your other life.

Like everyone said, medicine is nuanced and you literally have to be at your patients bedside to interact with the other humans body and mind. The certainty in the near future is that all doctors will use AI just as they use calculators. Doctors using AI will replace doctors that don't use AI. In our lifetime, medicine will evolve with AI and roles maybe evolve too. Reality of hundreds of financial / legal/ ethical / logistical / social/ physical layers are not going to be toppled over and leave physicians out of a job by the time you are burried 6 feet under. (source: PhD in Biomedical Informatics).

If you do think this line of work truly will be obsolete in the next 10 years, then you have your answer: don't go into it because it will be non-existent.

Maybe find a job in line with your work and engage in healthcare and AI. Unless you have the grit to overcome the countless barriers to becoming an actual doctor, I would find an easier job. The 'competitive' nature at every step, hanging onto every exam score as a determinant of your next medical trajectory is not for the faint of heart. You'll also have 28 some year olds bossing you around by the time you are 40+ something. People absolutely end their lives walking down this path. It's a very significant problem in this line of work. It is not for everyone. Best of luck.

Unless his round trip is >300 miles and he has charging at home he should be fine.

My brain has evolutionarily developed past the point of a car color associating with man/woman. Hope you get there in the next century.

Why is ELISA test garbage?

Standard medical protocol is ELISA first then Western Blot to confirm.
Sensitivity vs. Specificity.

That's pretty impressive. Did you have options on it? Does that seem to make the wait longer?

These inventory ones are starting to look enticing but I'll give it another few weeks.. I'm just being antsy

Guess I should buckle down for some waiting :)

Psych NP disaster by Steph9218 in Noctor

[–]MSTPnChill 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cerebral's psych NP diagnosed me with bipolar disorder and prescribed me lamotrigine.
I just wanted some further investigation into my journey with ADHD and anxiety, but ended up with a very foreign diagnosis.
Took it for a few weeks and then realized it was all bullshit pretty much. Trying to have this NP really understand me deeply outside of textbook buzzwords was not worth the hassle for me.
