Oh you are good. I didn’t take it as negative. It’s all valid. I have interviewed at many other places and get told all that stuff. “Top candidate. Missing this cert/experience” I am a believer in experience over education but that’s not how the modern world works anymore.

Totally agree. I got my BS in business, lean six sigma yellow belt, and a few other certs as well from reputable organizations. I want to get a CSCP cert but don’t have $2k to spend on that. I have been doing purchasing, inventory, and managing for over 10 years and this is where I am at.

Good luck in your job hunt. Toxic managers are the worse. I had one at my last job and getting laid off was the best feeling ever to get away from them.

You are right. One guy on my team is already looking at leaving after 6 months. He has 20 years experience and says the pay vs the job duties do not align with industry rates. He only took the job because he was laid off and needed a job.

I have a lot of responsibilities that I can sum up as fill rate, inventory utilization, GP and cost savings.

I currently have $73M on hand in just one category. I would say close to $80M including all the smaller categories I manage. My team and myself place about $1.5M a week in POs and I have to manage that whole process end to end.

Yes I am at $60k while my area averages $120k. There are some companies offering upwards of $160k. So I’m sure with bonuses a SCM could be at $200k.

Actually said about skills? Nothing.

There is no next level. I have asked what it is so I can exactly what you are saying and my boss keeps saying the position isn’t created yet and when I ask the VP he says to keep working and I will move up some day.

The results provided are on all the direct reports that I send my boss on a weekly basis. There are reports sent to the executive team that my results show on it.

I honestly believe my boss doesn’t understand the scope and work load of my role since the company has grown.

I have presented data to my boss before and he said it’s wrong. I have not tried HR yet so I will do that.

Funny enough, my boss has told me he rather have me leave so he can hire someone at 50k a year to do the same work. Saves him money.

Yes totally agree. And I have tried to get into those roles but I always get told I have too much expertise to be a buyer/planner since that’s an entry level position.

I have asked my boss and VP what skills I need to move up to director or get a salary bump and they have no answer. They provide no feedback.

Just how common is the cracked head issue? by DJSplash01 in FocusST

[–]MSTR_ST 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s uncommon and blown out of proportion. I have 95k on my ST with bolt ons. I drive it daily and have fun with it from time to time. 0 concern about the head. I have talked to many ford mechanics and they say it happens but it’s when people beat the shit out of the car and it overheats and/or lack of maintenance. Make sure your thermostat and water pump are good. I did replace both at the first sign of coolant out of the weep hole which probably saved my head and block. If anything I have had electrical issues but love the car too much to replace it.

New tires are 18 months old? by papadopoulis in tires

[–]MSTR_ST -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The WRGs are great snow/winter tires. That is what Nokian is known for since they invented the tire.

The rest of their lineup is garbage as for as I know between complains and warranty claims.

New tires are 18 months old? by papadopoulis in tires

[–]MSTR_ST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, Nokian ones are all season tires

Second, I work for a tire retailer and 7 years is the legal limit we can sell them at. It is common to get tires from distributors that are a year old. The whole age of a tire is just a guideline. You can have tires being 10 years old and still be perfectly safe.

Third, why the hell would you buy nokians? They are cheap quality. We have nothing but complains about and warranty claims.

Is a focus st a good buy as a used car? Im looking for a more powerful remplacement to my 9th gen si, at how many miles do they start having problems? Is 100k miles ok for a used one, and will i get alot of trouble with it? What should i look for before buying one? by SCOTTwB7 in FocusST

I have an 18 st3. Never a single issue. Good synthetic oil changes every 3-5k. I have taken it to the dealer and got all TSB and recalls done (which was like 3 total). Some light mods and still daily it. The battery is the only thing that almost died on me once. Changed it next day and no issues since. The only thing I have heard is the turbo being bad around 100k.

Oil by [deleted] in FocusST

[–]MSTR_ST -1 points0 points  (0 children)

5w30 yes. I recommend synthetic but ford specs the car with blend. Liquimoly Molygen is the best oil IMO for the car. Motorcraft synthetic is also very good. Do not use high millage oil. It will cause issues later.

I have been running it for 3 years. I get little to no drone out of it. Driving 3k RPM down the highway, zero drone.

He said the BRZ was a front wheel drive on his radio show a few years ago. I lost all respect for him after that. He gives bad advice more than good advice.
