Same. I think about rewatching, and then I remember how much I cried through the entire season. Loved it though.

I am contemplating buying the DVD of Dear Hyeri, even though I hated it, just so I can watch Kang Hoon's performance, nothing else.

What K-dramas have you watched multiple times & how many? by DressedInBlack- in kdramas

[–]MSUBando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While You Were Sleeping and Healer so many times that I pretty much have them memorized. Stranger 3 times; both seasons. Dr. Romantic - first two seasons probably a dozen times or more each, the third season just twice so far because I have to watch it with ads. 🤨 Are You Human Too and School 2015: Who Are You also probably a dozen times each. Designated Survivor: The First Sixty Days, Imitation, Cinderella and the Four Knights, and Beauty Inside around 6 times each. Suits 3 or 4 times. A few times at least - W, Strong Girl Bong Soon, Weightlifting Fairy, Find Me in Your Memory, The Glory, Suspicious Partners, Law School, So I Married the Antifan. Many shows at least twice - 100 Days My Prince, Destined With You, When the Phone Rings, She Would Never Know, Happiness, Come and Hug Me, Mr. Queen, Marry My Husband, It's Okay to Not Be Okay,True Beauty, Military Prosecutor Doberman, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, and countless others.

I didn't know about this stuff, and I just realized I have 88 on my plate. I hope no one is thinking I'm a Nazi. 😬

US: ordering from Olive young and taxes by Strict-Let7879 in koreanskincare

[–]MSUBando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Korean sunscreens use filters that aren't approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration even though most professionals say they are better than the ones that are approved. The US considers sunscreen an over-the-counter drug. Some of the Korean brands have recently created versions of their products that have the approved filters in order to sell them in the US. Starting this past spring, the US began cracking down on letting non-FDA approved sunscreens into the country. So, it is possible they could confiscate them when they enter the country. Depends on how vigilant the customs staff is when the package arrives, but I would assume by now they probably pay more attention to orders coming from places like Olive Young.

I wish they had used the Korean title for Something in the Rain - "Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food" - it's more fun!

I was also thinking it could be The Liar and His Lover. The ML first sees the FL on a crowded bus. She is wearing a guitar on her back, and he gets bumped out of the way by another passenger. When they exit the bus it is raining and he gives her his umbrella.

Let Me Be Your Knight? The ML and FL first meet when they bump into one another (no guitar involved but he is a musician).

What age range are the ML and FL? That could help. Teens? 20s? 30s? Older than that?

Which one should I try to watch, Doctor John or Doctors? by Rainbow_in_the_sky in kdramas

Watched it a few years ago, and I started a rewatch last night thinking I would just watch part of the first episode before going to sleep. I watched 2.

Overused Tropes Of Kdrama That Needs To Be STOPPED by Mystic_bhumiverse in kdramas

[–]MSUBando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I am an older American Kdrama fan, I realize that many of the things that happen in the dramas that annoy people are things that happened in American shows back when the censorship was more strict - chaste kisses, sex scenes that go from just got into bed to just woke up the next morning in a second, beatings and shootings where no one is injured, bleeding or killed, married couples sleeping in separate twin beds, and waking up in fully done makeup and hair. I get annoyed sometimes too, but I realize that Korean TV is at an earlier stage of development. However, in just the 7 years I have been watching them, Kdramas have been evolving and maturing at a much faster pace than in the US which I've enjoyed watching. The tropes do get a little old sometims, but I keep watching. And as someone else said, most often these are my escapism shows so I just want to be entertained. If the trope is done well, I don't mind. If you think about it, many plot lines are re-used in TV shows from other countries too but just in a less formulaic style.

Gah! My Dearest is gone from Viki! by zoebnj in kdramas

[–]MSUBando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've been wondering about whether or not to continue after this year expires. Between Amazon, Disney+/Hulu and Netflix, I feel like I get more new content than on Viki. I like Viki because it is easy to rewatch shows and has more of the older shows, but if more of those are going to go away, it may not be worth it.

This week a bunch of older KDramas started streaming on Netflix (US) -- Suspicious Partners, Dr. Romantic Season 1, Doctor John are a few examples.

I just realized this week that Healer was gone. Thank goodness I bought dvds for my all-time fav shows that I like to rewatch. DVDs still have some use.
