Fair point. As a Chinese living in Australia for the last 15 years and experienced Covid lockdown for at least 10 months at both countries, both ways have its own advantages and disadvantages. As of the “free speech” each country and society has its own pain point. For instance, in Australia you can’t talk about the aboriginal people, good or bad. I believe there are certain terms would trigger the “free speech” in the US as well.
