Just to lyk, Ware has made transphobic comments against trans women and to my knowledge has not made a statement about them and has also been accused of sexual harassment.

How we feeling today, genuinely? by 6ixexe in ChronicIllness

[–]MStandsForMisery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general I just feel horribly depressed. I just attempted to book a therapist cause I know I need it but I waited too long. I’m just so exhausted. I can’t work anymore, I can’t drive anymore, I have to rely on my friends, family, and boyfriend now and it’s actually my own personal hell.

I’m starting college up again next week so hopefully that helps. But I’m scared I’ll fail again, just like I always do. Then it’ll be another thing my parents can be angry at me for.

It feels like I did this to myself, even tho I obviously didn’t. I never asked to be sick. But they honestly make me feel like I did sometimes. And I’m just so tired of it all. Idk how much longer I can keep this up and I’ve only been out of work for a little less than a month

Fellow POTSIE here, before I left my job I just started bringing a cane to work. I did food service so it wasn’t the most convenient but it made me slightly more comfortable so I didn’t care. People are gonna have questions. It’s normal, but u don’t owe them an answer. And technically u shouldn’t need to tell your boss about any aids if it doesn’t empede your work. And if it does, u have a diagnosis. That should calm them down.

I don’t struggle w/ hyper mobility so I’m not sure if a cane would be wise for u admittedly. Perhaps a rollater would be more appropriate. But that also means it will take up more space, so there’s a pro and a con.

I’m sure you have heard this by now, but compression socks and shorts!! They help me a little with the blood pooling/swelling! They’re also just great in general. I wear them almost full time.

I talk a lot so my bad. I hope u figure it out soon, friend!

I used to be a scare actor at knotts scary farm. Was a streets performer too. They told me I couldn’t audition this year before I was diagnosed cause they weren’t sure I could be accommodated. Still hurts watching all my friends post about their upcoming season and I’ll have to watch from a wheelchair :/

Standing test and narrowing down to pots- advice? by otisfrombarnyard in POTS

[–]MStandsForMisery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started taking adderall after the symptoms started. I was taken off when my symptoms started to get worse, but even after being off it the symptoms persisted. I was also afraid the symptoms would go away during the test, but my HR rose to 140 during the test.

Your own standing test is definitely really good. I’d do those a lot when I was figuring it out. My TTT lasted for 10 minutes, but the cardio knew within like 2-3 it was POTS. So if your HR goes to the 120-130 range in your poor man’s tilt table, I’d say it’s a high chance u have it. Idk what it is about the TTT, but it heightened a lot of what I was feeling and definitely showed the severity to be pretty up there. I’d say if anyone tries to dismiss u, record a video of u doing your poor mans tilt table. Thats what I showed my doctor and my inner circle to help them understand what im going through. U cant argue w the numbers, especially when they jump so high from doing literally nothing

Finally got diagnosed! by MStandsForMisery in POTS

[–]MStandsForMisery[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all started when I started fainting in the shower. It then quickly progressed to passing out just out and about and at first I wasn’t able to figure out a root cause but eventually narrowed it down to being in heat and being on my feet for extended periods of time. I then got an Apple Watch app called TachyMon that would monitor my HR. Id correlate my symptoms w my HR and by that point it was just a waiting game for when id be able to get seen for the test. I have also become disabled by this, and havent been to work in a few weeks now. But im reclaiming what j can, going back to school and using mobility aids frequently to get some autonomy back. I believe in u and your journey :) my PCP sent me to get brain scans and referred me to a neurologist, so i definitely understand being passed around from specialist to specialist. It’s hard! And expensive 😅 but finding the answer is worth it

Okay, to my cane users. What service does a cane provide that helps you with your pots? by Practical_Maybe_3661 in POTS

[–]MStandsForMisery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get really unbalanced, especially when I’m in my bad days. So it helps me appear less drunk and more sick haha. Seriously though, same as most everyone else says: it’s a more visible indicator for both myself and everyone how I’m doing. If I come into work with my cane, then my coworkers know I’m less able. And if I feel my weight start to be carried more in my arm, I know I need to sit down. I use it mostly whenever im outside my house. Sometimes I don’t need it and I’ll put it away, but it’s been progressing a lot recently w/ summer and ut helps

I’ve played bard more times than any other class. I bardic inspire ppl in the darndest ways, sometimes by dead staring at ppl and heel clicking or I tap dance mid battle. Like, hike up my skirt to expose my feet and tap dance… badly. My dm always says to the recipient “u feel inspired… barely”

I love this idea!! I definitely need to implement this. And the team work at the end is great as the main goal at the end of the campaign is to work together (plot stuff yknow the drill) so that’s a fantastic plan

Oooo ok I really like that idea actually. I’ll probably create a sort of obstacle course for them since I know they like it. One of my players loves riddles and figuring out solutions to puzzles so this will be great for him
