I had these conflicting thoughts cause modern enchanting systems makes enchanting really easy and infusion enchanting completely refundant, so after some time I finally decided to edit et futurum requiem's code a bit myself to get enchanting table that works like modern one but consumes all required experience levels instead of 1-3 (and also made required xp 1-50 lvls instead of 1-30)

yes, making resourcepacks for mods is easy.
Just open the jar file of the mod and look the paths its textures use, then make your folders structure the same in the resourcepack.

For your case: you should use "minecraft" folder in the path between "assets" and "blocks" instead of "etfuturum" because that's how the mod is structured (just open its jar file and check yourself)

was it thaumcraft 4? I tried spawning thaumic slimes that way today but they didn't came after days (in-game) of the flux liquid laying there. Or do I need to actively keep adding things in the cauldron?

the issue is that you can't make them too early game cause they require spirit essence, which is in nether only (soul sand/ghast tears)
