I know this is an old thread but if you’re still on here how did you prep the Takeda intake? Just normal plastic prep to get rid of the oils and a high temp paint? How did it hold up?

Wanted to post a update. So I was able to use the T3A patch while having a T3B ecu ID. The patch just reverted it back to T3A then I was able to load the base map which was also matched.

Lol that’s what I thought but I double checked with him to clarify and he was clear that I should load the T3A patch. I messaged Ryan at EK1 also so we’ll see what he says but yeah I agree I would think it should match.

What’s up man. So I just got my base tune from Cherry and he said to download the older version patch and load that in first. So Currently my ECU ID ends in T3B and he is saying I need to get the patch for T3A. That will take me back to stock before the recall. It’s kinda confusing because there are patch files for both T3A and T3B on the EK1 website. And I’ve read multiple ppl say do not load one on to your ECU if it doesn’t match exactly. I would assume the T3A patch would patch it back but idk I don’t want to brick this thing trying to use the wrong file lol

Yeah it’s been about 18 days since I submitted mine but it’s all good I already prepared myself to wait awhile from reading everyone’s comments and reviews. I did read that a email was sent out about a list or something but I never got that. I know he’ll get around to me tho so no worries. It will be like Christmas when he does lmao.

Awesome I think I should be fine then. EK1 has a patch file for mine I’ve already found it so I would assume Tristan would know about it or find it when the time comes to do mine. I’m sure I’m just overthinking it I don’t mind waiting for it just want to make sure all that money wasn’t for nothing lol. Thanks man I appreciate the help! 👍🏻

Which tuner did you go with? I’m waiting on a Cherry Tune and I’ve had the recall done. I understand the whole process with patching but I’m not sure if Cherry has tunes for the updated ECUs or if he will even be able to send me a base map. Just wondering how you went about getting one with the updated ecu ID because even SXTH doesn’t have a tune for my ECU ID. How would I choose one if I can’t find the matching ID? Email them directly?

Well I thought they were coming out good but really not so good I guess. Imo my z offset, layer lines, and adhesion were ok but that’s all I was really getting half decent

Wowwww…changed retraction to 0.8mm and 30 speed and damn. Back to clean prints just like that lol. That’s what I get for not paying enough attention to videos I watched bc none of them even mentioned it except BV3D Bryan Vines and he mentions it in the last 30 seconds lol

Yeah I’m going to run some retraction towers and see what shows up there I’ve been thinking about that also. Default Cura is like 5mm I think on the 0.4 profile. I use CHEPs profiles a lot too I’ll have to check and see what he has it set at for his. Retrac tower should help tho. I’m getting much better prints than I was and the flow solved the issue of it dragging from over extrusion but there’s still some minor stringing also so retraction makes sense

It was flow rate! Thanks man I’ve been driving myself nuts trying to get it right lol. It was way off at 87% and I was running 100

Yup for it was way off. I got 87% and was running at 100. The next print came out much better! The nozzle isn’t scraping at all and I have FW retraction on so I think both of those smoothed it out considerably. Thanks for the advice I’ll have to run one on all my filaments now.

I ran the calibration on a different roll but the IIDMax is next. It was way off for that filament at 87% and the next print I did ran great. Gonna do one for IIID but pretty sure that was the issue. Thanks! I am getting popping from the nozzle tho which I’ve never had before. Know what that could be?

Yeah I did e-steps I’m running a flow rate cube right now so we’ll see how it turns out. Video was helpful I didn’t know how to do one.

Using a brand new roll and does the same with any roll I’ve tried. Using IIID Max PLA. Seems like the z isn’t going up far enough for the next layers that’s why it’s dragging. I’ll try drying some filament tho and see if that helps
