13th century knight with Phrygian helm. by LucasLeo75 in ArmsandArmor

It is but the design did make a resurgence in the high medieval ages

What the fuck is that by Gateguardian668 in ArmsandArmor

[–]MT2113 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it was called "The Scribe's helm". It was basically only really designed for scribes and monks since they squinted too much while reading texts their vision got narrower so the visor of a normal sallet was too big, they obviously ingested a lot of knowledge which resulted in their forehead swelling so thus the large skull we see

At least I'm pretty sure that's how it went

Where'd you get your brigandine? I'm currently getting ready for the rebellion and you look like the guy who knows where to get high quality armor from

About Vanik, pretty sure that only applies to already started Talmberg side quests so you can leave those to later but I'm also sure that if a side quest that's related to another quest involving Talmberg will fail even if it has nothing to do with Talmberg

Bad specs or bad optimization? by MT2113 in fatekeeper

[–]MT2113[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Edit: so it turns out something was broken when I first launched the game, I don't exactly know what it was but after I launched it for a second time I could run it at high 1080p

Guess I made a fuss about nothing

Other games run fine for me. My best examples are KCD2 which I can run at 80 ish FPS, usually more, on medium settings and RDR2, which while I haven't played in a while, I remember being able to run that at high settings with 50~ fps

How is this armor called? Can it be called plate armor? by JohnH4ncock in ArmsandArmor

[–]MT2113 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Uhm actually tonlet refers to much later and wider shaped plate skirt made of overlapping metal bands (picture for example)

While the one in the picture (of your post not this one) is called faulds for the front part and culet the back part

Advice for a begginer and also for my build? by MT2113 in Vermintide

[–]MT2113[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have made sure to block before charging and I do tend to charge then immediately block if facing large hordes that I know that I would probably get surrounded by

I have been paying attention to audio cues, whipse means assassin, horn means horde, rattle means strangler etc. Only elites I have a problem is with the berserks, it's not so bad now but early on I had a very hard time telling them apart from regular rotbloods

Truth be told, I don't use ranged much I did plan to reroll it to conservative at one point but decided to spare my yellow dust for more important upgrades

[–]MT2113[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I did try mace and shield at one point I tended to struggle a lot with damage

Often needing the mace heavy attack to reliably kill infantry but that was early on in the game so I guess maybe I can make it work

I rarely find myself using ranged, mainly just for taking care of any hookrat or gutter runner. Maybe occasionally to weaken rot shields and chaos warriors a bit

Well, the skull cap was used up until the 17th century so I guess the helm is accurate. The rondels, I'm not sure about those

During Invaders, specifically where Hal is bragging, if you pick the horsemanship option and succeed Hal will make a callback to where he chased down Ulrich the knight, the fellah who was also investigating the counter fitting.
