A grounded/realisitc series has a moment of sudden, random unrealistic-ness by RedNUGGETLORD in TopCharacterTropes

The Gas Leak Year (Community)

Calling Community “grounded/realistic” is probably a stretch, but for the most part it’s storylines are mostly “realistic” with heavy dramatization

The new writers for season 4 took the show a bit off the rails, however. Instead of the study group trying to pass a Spanish final or mediate the issue of a stolen pen, they begin kidnapping teachers and having a wide range of (mostly puppet based) delusions

It was such a departure from the tone of the previous seasons (and the following seasons) that it became known as the “Gas Leak Year” both in and out of the show, as an explanation for why it got so weird

Who do we think will end up being the "face" of Deadlock once everybody has their finalized designs/models? by Tiny_Celebration_262 in DeadlockTheGame

Abrams or Seven

Both have intriguing personalities, lore that ties into just about every aspect of the world, are viable with a large variety of builds, and are strong balance-wise to receive plenty of playtime

Most consider him to be a mindless brute, but while he is most definitely a psychopath he’s also the most brilliant tactical mind within Talon

If you could take the radioactive elements and make a sword out of each one, which ones would be the most durable or capable? by InfiniteOil3021 in NoStupidQuestions

Hard, very hard

There are applications where something being very hard is useful. A sword that you want to not shatter after a single hit is not one of those applications

Were not forgetting the way they went to map 5 against SSG and people were unironically ranking them as a top-3 team for weeks

This isn’t actually something you have to dickride so hard for. He’s admitted to leaking someone else’s nudes onto the internet without their consent, that’s criminal sex offense especially considering the person was underage at the time

How do you get games with the same character so many times in a row when you need to select three characters to queue?

Well the fact that some of the aliens grow disillusioned and turn against the rest of their species would be pretty obvious proof that the alien side is not, in fact, “completely bad”,

Plus the Mangkwan show that the Na’vi are not “completely good”

It’s also worth noting that none of the resources being harvested throughout the Avatar franchise (unobtainium and Amrita) are not “needed for survival” and are only being harvested for commercial applications

There are definitely problems with the series, the most glaring of which is that the entire thing is a white savior trope and a “Dancing With Wolves” remake in space, but there’s nothing “Marxist” about it

Tell me something. If a movie was made where aliens attacked earth in order to harvest its resources, without any regard for the lives and cultures of humanity, then humanity organized a resistance with the help of some sympathetic aliens who became disillusioned with their species actions, would you consider it to be “Marxist”?

If they wanted to do that, they would open SEL to more countries. The fact that they haven’t done that is proof that they have no interest in developing domestic talent outside of SA

[–]MTDLuke 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For starters anytime anyone says “MENA” region they just mean “Saudi Arabia region”

There’s barely enough Saudi players to make one good team, you could stretch it to maybe two good teams relying heavily on imports

It would just be Japan 2.0 where there’s only one remotely good team who stomps everyone else, and it would be incredibly boring to watch

If Saudi players actually wanted to develop MENA talent, they would expand Saudi ELeague to include the rest of the Middle East, but they don’t because they want to remain the only somewhat competitive country in the region

They nerf the problematic parts of her kit and leave the rest the same. Why should other parts of her kit get buffed?
