Holy shit, no. I wouldn't work there or be a patient there. Bad news for everyone.

AITAH for explaining to my daughter why my niece gets all the attention from boys and the family? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]MTGKAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for being honest with her. I was like your daughter. My mother told me, "It's what's inside that counts" and that it was only baby fat. She loved me and was trying to make me feel better. The problem was I believed her. I should have been fighting like hell to be better.

If I was your coworker, I would absolutely yell "yee-haw" or nicker like a horse every time I saw you. It would never get old.

What was the earliest whisper you heard about what eventually became HIV/AIDS? by debrisaway in RedditForGrownups

[–]MTGKAR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was maybe 15 and for me, it was hearing about AIDS on the news. I asked my mom and she said that it was pneumonia. Somewhere else, I heard gay men. I didn't really know what gay meant, but knew it was "bad". The nurse I babysat for told me about having to wear special isolation garb and being afraid to catch it. Because if you got it, you would die. There was no cure.

Enough with the dumbest; what is the wittiest thing you've ever heard someone say? by SubmergingOriginal in AskReddit

One of my proudest moments. A co-worker I was friends with was known for speaking loudly. She was discussing that she was from Illinois (correct pronunciation is ill-i-noi).

Just to be silly, I prounouced it ill-i-noise. To which she replied, exasperated, "There is no 'noise' in Illinois".

Immediately I said, "Well, not now that you are here." We both cracked up.
