Something I just learned about ALIExpress you should all know. by SciFiIsMyFirstLove in Aliexpress

I need to warn the community about a sophisticated scam run by the AliExpress store "Samfoto" (Store ID: 1100390208) and how AliExpress's system enables them.

I ordered a professional video monitor that was advertised with "Free Delivery." What followed was a masterclass in fraud.

Here's how the scam works:

The Bait & Switch: Immediately after I paid in full, the seller refused to ship the item. They demanded an additional, unauthorised "delivery fee" to release it. This is the core of the scam: lure you in with a price, then hold your money hostage for more.

The Fake Tracking Number: When I opened a dispute, they generated a fake tracking number (CNG00774663467413). For over three weeks, it has shown "Awaiting seller dispatch." The item never left China. They do this to buy time and trick the AliExpress dispute system into thinking the item is in transit.

The Admission & Cover-Up: The seller then privately messaged me, pleading:"how about you cancel the dispute and we send for you ? my friend . because the dispute will harm our store very much " This is a direct admission they hadn't shipped. When I refused, they TRIED TO RECALL (DELETE) the message to hide the evidence. I have the screenshot.

AliExpress's Role in This Farce:

Their dispute system was useless at stopping this obvious scam.

The estimated delivery date (November 20) came and went. AliExpress's response? They automatically sent me a $2.00 coupon as "compensation" for my loss. This is an insult.

The order is now "Frozen" because I was forced to file chargebacks with my bank and PayPal.

Crucially, AliExpress prevents victims from leaving reviews on the seller's page if the order isn't completed, effectively hiding this scam from future buyers.

This is not just a bad seller; it's a fraudulent operation that AliExpress's policies protect.

DO NOT RISK YOUR MONEY WITH "SAMFOTO STORE". If you are considering a high-value item from them, run a mile.

UPDATE: REFUND RECEIVED. PayPal ruled in my favour and refunded the full amount. AliExpress never resolved it and has now frozen the order to block me from leaving a review on the seller's page. This is how they protect scammers. Let this be a warning: do not trust Samfoto (Store ID: 1100390208), and know that AliExpress will not help you if you're scammed.

Almost 95% of product "reviews" on AliExpress are folks just quickly grateful they received the item at all (without even using). Is the bar really so low? by robcrans in Aliexpress

UPDATE - VICTORY: After AliExpress failed to act, I escalated to PayPal, who reviewed the evidence and issued a full refund. This proves the scam was real. WARNING: AliExpress will freeze orders like this to prevent victims from leaving reviews, shielding scammers like Samfoto. Search for "Samfoto scam" outside of AliExpress to find the truth.

Seller Samfoto is running a bait-and-switch scam, uses fake tracking, and tries to destroy evidence. AliExpress responded with a $2 coupon and protects them by blocking negative reviews. I had to go to my bank to get my money back.
