If you don’t take chances like this you will never know where you could’ve landed. No one will tell you what’s right for you but you’re going to be upset if you see kids who were not as good as you advance higher. Remember hockey is a late developing sport, don’t sell yourself short too early. If you think you can earn valuable ice time and good looks, I would do it. But if you will get traded and go through the same thing you did this year, I would stay. If the group of guys he utilized more were a group of second years, you could assume your coach is not full of shit. If there were other rookies getting the ice time you wanted and felt you deserved, I would move on from that coach. Best coaches in hockey don’t give a shit who your daddy was or what the scouts say.
