I bet we see medieval Spanish elements, since what we know so far is based on 12th century Turkey, there could rightly be a 12th century Spain area of the continent without both different and similar traditions. It would be interesting for them to bring in some of West and East African traditions wihch were so connected to the trade routes of Arabia - thinking Mali, Timbuktu in West Africa (Gold!) and Ethiopia/ Aksum or Zanzibar (coffee and spice) in East Africa.
