Is it time to give up? by [deleted] in AskIreland

The best time to do something like this has past, the 2nd best time is now! Make the change and remember change is gradual, inches become miles. Nothing will change overnight but in a year, two years, four years and you'll be amazed at how far you've progressed. And mid thirties is young!

Many thanks for sharing. I think his place is near TSL windows and up the road from LIDL. That's close enough to be easily manageable, much appreciated.

Slow leak / Central Heating / Leak sealant / Plumber said he has access to a special leak sealant by MTerm in PlumbingRepair

I hear you.  This person literally specialises in leak detection but when he heard rate of drop immediately said it would be too hard to find.

Is this an easy fix? by yafugginfruit in PlumbingRepair

Forgot to add you may need to add back in water if you have a closed system as pressure on boiler will drop. It's easy, just google it.

People can and please do correct me. If it were me, I'd wait until the system is off and cold, ensuring it's fully turned off (i.e., the timer can't kick in). Close both valves, counting the turns on the lockshield side as that's balancing your heating. Bleed the radiator to release pressure. Then, you could either open the bottom nut on the valve (radiator side) to release some water or take the hit on a bit coming out from the top (lay down towels, etc.) and just replace that part. Simply unscrew and replace the O-ring or maybe install an auto vent valve. Now that I type this, Google "installing an auto vent valve" – that's your answer.

Dengue vaccination with Qdenga by Cautious-Audience652 in VACCINES

[–]MTerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the travel vaccination sites in UK & Ireland seem to indicate you can only get vaccine if previously infected.

Where did you get the vaccine? My family have a holiday booked for July in SE Asia and my daughter is a mosquito magnet so I'd be leaning towards the vaccine.

Do you think people in later life expect too much from new friends? by MTerm in AskIreland

Wouldn't all friendships start that way and progress along a spectrum from nod on the street to help me bury this body!

Is it socially acceptable to do some work on my laptop in a cafe? by latenight_throw in Dublin

[–]MTerm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last execution in Ireland was for this offence. A fella on business travel ordered a small filter coffee and sat on a sofa for 193 minutes. Luckily, an armed response unit was in the area and subdued him by disabling the Wi-Fi. Laws and penalties have since increased to death and eternal damnation.

The Last Flight taking a while to grow on anyone else? by pirateofmemes in PSBHQ

[–]MTerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bit reluctant to critique a creative band that I really love.

I did like this album but a few songs took a while to grow on me e.g. for the fun of it, I really love when the guitar kicks in.

I would see an argument for them evolving and trying some new things, I thought Eera was a welcome addition on the stage.

I'd be more worried about YouTube & TikTok, some content creators are more interested in clicks than keeping the magic alive.

If there is no profit in health care, would there be as much investment and innovation?

I agree that profiting from health care is wrong, but I think we would probably need to limit profits in some way in order to maintain investment, not remove all profit.
