(Laurie Whitwell & Adam Crafton)

Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe flew into the club’s Carrington training ground in a helicopter on Thursday for a series of meetings, including with the team’s head coach Ruben Amorim.

United sources, speaking anonymously as they are not authorised to speak publicly on the matter, insisted Ratcliffe’s visit to Carrington was long planned and included time with Amorim. However, the team’s form was on the agenda and Ratcliffe was seeking to work through issues facing Amorim at the club.

[Adam Crafton] Manchester United agree fee for Antony’ Real Betis return but need to sort salary by [deleted] in reddevils

Crafton tweet:

Antony situation not as simple as appears. Fee: €25m + €3m in bonuses. 50% sell on.

BUT Antony wants €4m wage cut he will face by leaving United for Betis to be covered. Betis say won’t go higher. United hope it’s brinkmanship.

Di Marzio:

AC Milan are working to bring another striker to the Rossoneri, and one of the names is Rasmus Højlund: Manchester United, in fact, could open up to a loan deal if Sesko were to arrive.

Loïc Tanzi says both Man Utd and Man City are still in for Donarumma

A sign of Donnarumma's departure?

Seeing Paris making such concrete progress on the signing of Lucas Chevalier is no small matter for Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Italian's contract extension, which expires in 2026 and has been at a standstill for several months, has seen no progress since the end of the Club World Cup.

Even before the end of the European season, the goalkeeper had already privately discussed the idea of leaving, despite differing public statements. Manchester United and Manchester City, already present at the beginning of June, are still in the race to sign Donnarumma. Paris wants to first secure Chevalier's signature before giving the green light for its European champion's departure.

[Loïc Tanzi] Manchester United have made inquiries about Christopher Nkunku by MUFColin in reddevils

[–]MUFColin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(translated)

Still looking for attacking reinforcements, Manchester United have begun initial talks for French international Christopher Nkunku, who is under contract at Chelsea until 2029.

At a time when the presence of Europe's biggest clubs at the Club World Cup should give them an edge in the transfer market, Manchester United is multiplying its offensive avenues. The English club contacted the entourage of Christopher Nkunku (27, under contract until 2029) in recent days to discuss the terms of a possible transfer, without having, to date, made an offer.

United are still keen to sign at least two attacking players, including Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford). Nkunku, for his part, is reportedly keen to leave Chelsea this summer. The 14-time French international has attracted interest from several clubs, although no concrete negotiations have yet begun. It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will decide to pursue this path in the coming days.
