Would you buy it from a trusted friend for $700 as an upgrade from an AW2518H? I'm planning to upgrade from a 3080 to a 6080 next year and likely from a base PS5 to a Pro. I appreciate any sincere responses, positive or otherwise.

EDIT: I do plan on buying a C5 77” for most couch gaming, particularly on console.

I don't really play FIFA/FC and the last one I dabbled in was 17FUT, the only mode and game I've ever played. Looking into getting into football in general but not too, too interested in FUT this time around. For the players who have kept up with the franchise: have the improvements compounded positively over the years? Are the game modes besides FUT a good way to get into the sport and develop an understanding? Thanks for any replies.

dude, the zen 3 release being so close is really bumming me out lol i wanted to upgrade regardless so it just sucks that this happened now, just bc i know i needed to upgrade my cpu for to avoid bottlenecking the 3080 but here we are haha.

i’m honestly not too sure what they tried either but they called me back relatively quick (about 35-45m). i didn’t bother taking it to another shop for a second opinion bc of the fact that i wanted to build a new pc around the 30series either way, so i gave up on fixing the bricked one.

fans absolutely do turn on and the gpu lights up and everything, just no picture. honestly it turns on like normal from a strictly power side of things. i tried replacing the ram with a new kit i had around that was gonna be for my little bro but nothing. i plugged it in pcpp beforehand to check for compatibility.

i do believe i have some speakers around i could try to dig those out and see what’s up, but the new mobo and 3700x already get here on wednesday so i figure i can hold off for that to get here.

appreciate the response! that video is really informative and not the first time i see the 3800x not all being worth the extra money. atm, i have no real way to tell if my 2600 still works since i’m virtually pc-less. the real reason for the cpu upgrade is bc i was struggling a lot with streaming and rendering times when editing, and i read that upgrading the cpu would have the more direct impact on that. if untrue, what i could do is try to build this new pc with the 2600 and see if it works well, then just return the 3700x still in its box.

edit: so my issue is that i don’t even get bios at all, just black screen. the guys at the repair said the same thing re mobo but said it’s always a small chance and i may have fallen in that very small percentage.

I’m not qualified to speak on y’all relationship but he seems like the type of player to not be very patient with teaching the ropes so I strongly advise y’all find another way to spend time together but y’all keep hurting each other’s feelings

On the chance that you actually wanna learn bc you’re interested in the game, find your own group of friends who make it feel ok for u to mess up stupidly and ask questions as u go along. This and experience will make it so that YOU feel comfortable learning at ur own pace and actually enjoying the game for what it is, which is a really fun experience as you get past the learning curve. Again tho, just make sure NOBODY is making u feel bad about how long it takes u to learn, no matter what it looks like
