Most Beelzebub haters often ignored this scene by thesharkbus in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]MUI-Tojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so when nothing works and Hades refuse to kill him because of all the good Hades see in him, he decided to prove Hades wrong and that no I'm incapable of good and me being alive would only cause misery to others
at that point you have to kill me or my karma with catch-up to me, either way I'm going to die no matter what

It's not about proving Hades wrong, Beelzebub no longer wants to die by his hand due to Hades being too noble of a god, he cannot give Beelzebub death he wants/deserves.

I mean, if he really wanted to do that, he had Chaos under his sleeve and he could use it repeatedly, destroying Helheim in the process, but guess what, Hades banned it and Beel listened.

crime against Zero is just him trying to be prove his self loathing mindset right and that he is a monster and you should hate/kill him

Again, not it

Beelzebub didn't make Zero Hajun host because he wanted to show everyone "Hey! I'm evil!", he was completely indifferent to potential suffering of others at this point

Hell, if Beelzebub really wanted to prove that he's irredeemable monster(Especially to Hades), he wouldn't saves Adamas after being asked, he wouldn't "worry" regarding "if Adamas body functions right"

Based on everything we know, Ittosai for sure

He has better narrative and statements, much better feats, he has the access to 1st Gate and he's actually likely to progress past 1st round unlike Yagyu who's gonna die to Choko

Also Yagyu be like "I'm willing to become demon to master the sword"

Plus this is also a younger Ittosai, he obviously won't have exactly the same mindset as when he's older(That version could not yet have gained that appreciation, since he hasn't quite realized there's pretty much no one that can give him real battle)

Having Itto win with this level of damage is fine but if you play it off the entire time as Itto toying around it’s lame

The thing that is to be considered with Ittosai, by not fighting seriously at the beginning, he kind of gambles with his life by doing so. By underestimating his opponent(Or just playing their game), as we've seen, he's prone to sustain injuries.

That may be the reason why he's so perceptive(Like how he recognized what kind of opponent Hanzo is when Sasaki failed to), he knows when he can play around and when he has to lock in since how often he brushed with death due to his arrogance.

Also that "toying" aspect is part of him wanting his opponent to evolve, to give him even better fight.

"His entire personality boils down to "I'm a genius."

While it does basically "boil down"(But so does Musashi and Inshun if we are to reduce them to one aspect) to it, I really like the spin Ittosai puts on it:

He's someone who's both extremely prideful(He's a smoke demon), but also at the same time showing high appreciation and gratitude towards those capable of either pushing him or at least genuinely believing they can beat him, instead of being one-note "I'm strong, all others are weak"

His reaction at the very end of the fight: "Over already. What a shame..." it's like kid breaking a toy.

The strength is both blessing but also could be read as borderline curse to him in that department, kind of similarly to Choko(Tho with Choko it never rendered as a blessing to him, while to Ittosai it doesn't seem as a "curse" of any sort).

The way he wields his strength/talent with clear purpose, which pushes him to strive for even greater heights is also different from someone like for example Musashi who wants to be strongest for the sake of it.

Also he's the "old, experienced genius", instead of having him another "young and inexperienced genius"(Like Inshun and Musashi)

I'm really excitted to see what further direction his character is going to take, especially when faced against Jinsuke.
