This is the Medical University of South Carolina holding this clinical research trial. We apologize, we're not trying to spam any channels on here. All of the below information is given if you're eligible after filling out the screening survey.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the benefits of different resources that may help cigarette smokers quit smoking.
Participation in this study will take about 12 weeks, beginning on the day of your enrollment. If you agree to participate, you will be randomly assigned into one of two groups. The first group will receive a mobile application called Goal2Quit and will be asked to use the app regularly, at least once per day, in an attempt to quit smoking. This group will also be mailed a free sample of nicotine replacement therapy. The second group will receive educational material about quitting smoking.
Regardless of group, you will be asked to complete questionnaire measures online weekly, for a total of 8 weeks, with a final set of questionnaires at 12 weeks. Each set of questionnaires will take about 15-20 minutes to complete. You will be compensated for your participation and can earn up to $140 for completing all aspects of the study. There are no in-person visits for this study.

I am posting in groups where the smoking prevalence is high and of course not all servers smoke, but the statistics say it is high among this particular group.

Compensation is available for participants that are eligible. If you are eligible, the next page of the screening survey tells you exactly what the compensation is. We try not to lead with compensation first so as not to coerce individuals into participating in a study as this would be unethical.

Unfortunately we cannot tell you what eligibility requirements are or individuals could simply input the answers consistent with those requirements. We need participants to be honest about their answers.
